Billing and Settings are separate menu items. Use Billing for your subscription and payments, and Settings for your profile, password, and team. This guide covers the most common questions in those areas so you can often find your answer right away. It also explains what to share if you need a teammate's help, so your request is resolved faster.

πŸ“‹ What Account & Billing Covers

This category includes anything related to managing your Search Atlas account and paying for your plan. Common topics include:

  • Subscription and plan: viewing your current plan, upgrading, downgrading, or canceling
  • Payments: updating your card, understanding a charge, or resolving a failed payment
  • Invoices and receipts: finding past billing records for your accounting needs
  • Account details: changing your name or password. Your email address is shown on your profile but cannot be changed in the dashboard.
  • Team access: adding or removing users, where available on your plan

πŸ”Ž How to Find Your Account and Billing Settings

  1. Log in to your Search Atlas account.
  2. Click your profile icon or account name, usually in a corner of the screen.
  3. Choose Billing for subscription and payment options, or Settings for your profile, password, and team.
  4. On Billing, review the tabs: Plans & Top-ups, Services, and Invoices. Payment Method is on Plans & Top-ups. Viewers only see quota-related tabs.

Menu names can vary slightly depending on your plan and the latest platform updates. If you do not see an option you are looking for, it may be limited to the account owner or an admin.

πŸ’³ Updating Your Payment Method

If your card has expired or you want to use a different one, you can usually update it yourself:

  1. Open Billing from your profile menu.
  2. Find the payment method section.
  3. Select Manage (or Add payment if you have no card), enter the new card details, and click Save card.
  4. Open Manage and confirm the card you want is marked Default card.

Updating your card before your next renewal date helps avoid interruptions to your service.

🧾 Understanding Charges and Invoices

If you see a charge you do not recognize, check these things first:

  • Renewal date: your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period
  • Plan changes: upgrades or added features can change the amount charged
  • Billing name: the charge may appear under the name of the account owner or company on file
  • Multiple accounts: you may have more than one account using the same payment card

Past invoices can typically be found in the billing section of your account settings.

πŸ”„ Changing or Canceling Your Plan

You can review your current plan from the billing area. From there, look for options to change your plan or manage your subscription. Keep these points in mind:

  • Changes made close to your renewal date may take effect on the next billing cycle.
  • Only the account owner or an admin may be able to change or cancel a plan.
  • Review what is included in your current plan before making a change so you know which features you may lose or gain.

πŸ” Managing Your Account Details

To update your personal information, open your account or profile settings. You can usually change your name, update your password, and review your login details. If you cannot log in, use the forgot password option on the login page to reset your password. If you still cannot get in, a teammate can help.

πŸ› οΈ Quick Troubleshooting Tips

  • Payment failed: check that your card details, expiration date, and billing address are correct, and that your bank has not blocked the charge
  • Cannot see billing options: confirm you are logged in as the account owner or an admin
  • Plan features missing: refresh the page, log out and back in, and check that your plan is active
  • Unexpected charge: compare the charge date to your renewal date and review any recent plan changes
