πŸ“Œ What Does a Pending Payout Mean?

A pending payout is money you have earned from a published order that has not yet been released to you. It is not lost or cancelled. The payment is held until the order passes the checks needed to confirm it is complete and eligible for payment.

Pending payouts cannot be released on request. Eligible earnings are grouped into an unpaid remittance, and staff send that remittance through PayPal. This is why a balance, for example $190, can stay pending even after the content has been published.

βœ… Requirements for a Payout to Be Released

An order is eligible to be added to an unpaid remittance only after the checks below are met. Payment is still sent by staff, not released automatically.

  • The order is fully delivered. The content must be published on your site with a live URL, and the client link must be a follow link. That posted status is called Posted-Follow.
  • The live URL is correct and accessible. The published page must load properly and be publicly reachable.
  • The content and links are in place. The published page must contain the required client links and anchor text, and the client link must be a follow link rather than nofollow.
  • The page remains live. Removing, redirecting, or editing the page after publication can make it fail validation and delay or block the payout. Staff can also place the remittance on hold.
  • The published page must pass validation. There is no fixed review period, and payment is sent by staff after the article is eligible rather than the moment it goes live.
  • Your payout details are complete. A PayPal email must be saved on your publisher account before the remittance can be paid.
  • There is no minimum payout amount. Any eligible published order with a positive cost can be included in your remittance.

⏳ How Long Does It Take?

Timing depends on when your order was marked Posted-Follow and when staff send the remittance. The Remittances tab says payment is scheduled for the upcoming Tuesday, end of the day. A payout is not released the moment content goes live.

If your payout has been pending for a long time, such as a month or more, check the items below. It can also still be waiting because staff have not yet sent the remittance. Waiting alone does not release it.

πŸ” Why a Payout May Stay Pending

  • Your PayPal email is missing. Without a PayPal email on your publisher account, the remittance cannot be paid.
  • The article is not Posted-Follow. The live URL may not have been submitted, the client link may not be a follow link, or the page may still be failing validation.
  • The published page has an issue. The link may be missing, the page may not be accessible, or the content may differ from the order.
  • The page was changed or removed. Updates made after publication can make the page fail validation or lead staff to place the remittance on hold, which delays the payout.
  • There is no minimum payout amount. A pending balance is not held back for being too small.
  • A payout was already processed. It may be on its way through your payment provider, which can add some days before it shows in your account.

πŸ› οΈ How to Check Your Payout Status

  1. Log in to your publisher account and open the Articles page.
  2. Open the Articles page. Published articles that have not been paid show Payment pending. Paid remittances are listed on the Remittances tab.
  3. Confirm each order shows as published or completed, with a working live URL.
  4. Open each live URL in a browser and check that the page loads and the link is present.
  5. Open your payout or payment settings and confirm your payment details are added and verified.
  6. Compare your available balance with the minimum payout amount, if one is shown.
  7. Check that the pending amount matches the total of the eligible orders.

πŸ’‘ Tips to Avoid Payout Delays

  • Add and verify your payment details when you first set up your publisher account.
  • Submit the live URL as soon as the content is published.
  • Check that the link, anchor text, and content match the order before you submit.
  • Keep published pages live and unchanged after delivery.
  • Review your orders regularly so you can fix any issue before it holds up payment.

πŸ’¬ What to Include When You Contact Support

If you have checked the steps above and your payout is still pending, our team can review your account. Having this information ready will speed things up:

  • The name of the site or publication the payout relates to
  • The pending amount and roughly when the order was published
  • The order IDs or live URLs involved
  • What you have already checked, such as payment details and order status

Our team can confirm exactly which requirement is outstanding and tell you what is needed for the payout to be released.
