π Overview
If you added the Google Ads add-on to your Search Atlas plan and no longer use it, you can turn it off so it stops billing you. This article explains why you may still see a charge, how to turn the add-on off, and how to ask our team to review a charge you believe was made in error.
π Why You May Still Be Charged for an Unused Add-On
Add-ons are billed separately from your main plan and usually renew on a recurring basis. This means the add-on keeps renewing until it is turned off, even if you have not logged in or run any Google Ads activity.
- Not using a feature is not the same as cancelling it. The charge continues until the add-on is removed from your subscription.
- Cancelling your add-on stops future charges. It does not automatically reverse charges that have already been processed.
- Add-on charges may appear as a separate line item from your main subscription, so they are easy to overlook.
π οΈ How to Turn Off the Google Ads Add-On
Follow these steps to stop the add-on from renewing:
- Log in to your Search Atlas account.
- Open your account settings and go to the Billing or Subscription section.
- Find the Google Ads add-on in the list of active plans and add-ons.
- Select the option to cancel or remove the add-on and confirm your choice.
- Check that the add-on now shows as cancelled or inactive, and that no further renewal date is listed for it.
If you cannot find the add-on or the cancel option, our team can turn it off for you. See the support section at the end of this article.
π§Ύ Review Your Recent Charges
Before asking for a refund, it helps to confirm exactly what you were charged for:
- Open your billing history and find the most recent charge.
- Check whether the charge is for the Google Ads add-on, your main plan, or another add-on.
- Note the date of the charge and the amount.
- Check whether other add-on charges appeared in earlier months.
Having this information ready makes it much faster for our team to look into your request.
π° Requesting a Refund for an Unused Add-On
Refunds for add-on charges are reviewed by our team on a case-by-case basis. Turning off the add-on does not automatically trigger a refund, and we cannot guarantee that every request will be approved. Our team will look at your account and billing history and let you know the outcome.
To help us review your request quickly, include the following details when you contact us:
- The name of the add-on you want turned off (Google Ads).
- The date and amount of the charge you want reviewed.
- How long you have not been using the add-on.
- Whether you want the add-on turned off right away.
π‘ Tips to Avoid Unexpected Add-On Charges
- Review your billing section regularly, especially if you have added extra features.
- Cancel add-ons you no longer need as soon as you stop using them.
- Check your billing history after making any plan changes.
- Confirm that the add-on shows as cancelled after you turn it off.
β Frequently Asked Questions
Will cancelling the add-on stop future charges?
Yes. Once the add-on is turned off, it should no longer renew. Always check your billing section to confirm the change.
Does cancelling give me an automatic refund?
No. Cancelling stops future billing only. A refund for a past charge must be reviewed by our team.
Will I lose my main Search Atlas plan if I remove the add-on?
No. The Google Ads add-on is separate from your main plan. Removing it does not cancel the rest of your subscription.
Can the team turn off the add-on for me?
Yes. If you have trouble finding the option in your billing settings, our team can do it for you.
