π Overview
Sometimes the pending payment shown for your published articles is lower than you expected. For example, you may have 10 published articles that add up to $260, but your pending balance shows $215, leaving a $45 gap. This article explains why that can happen, how to check your balance yourself, and what to send us if you need a review.
π What a Payment Discrepancy Looks Like
You may have a discrepancy if any of the following apply:
- Your pending total is lower than the sum of your published articles.
- One or more published articles do not appear in your pending payment list.
- An article is listed, but at a different amount than you expected.
A single missing article is the most common cause of a gap like the $45 example above.
𧩠Common Reasons a Pending Amount Looks Short
Most gaps come from one of the following. Check each one before contacting us.
- Article status: The article may be published on the site, but its status inside the platform has not been updated to reflect it.
- Review or approval not finished: Articles usually need to complete review before they count toward your pending balance.
- Timing: A recently published article may not have reached your pending balance yet.
- Link or URL mismatch: If the published URL differs from the one on file, the article may not be matched to your account.
- Article rate: The amount for an article may differ from what you expected, for example because of word count or article type.
- Edited or replaced article: If an article was revised or replaced, the original entry may have been removed or merged.
β How to Check Your Pending Payment Yourself
Follow these steps to find where the difference comes from:
- Open the payments or earnings section of your account.
- Make a list of every article you have published during the period in question, with its title, URL, and the amount you expect for it.
- Compare your list with the articles shown in your pending payment.
- Add up the amounts shown in the platform and subtract the total from your own.
- Look for an article, or a combination of articles, that matches the difference. In our example, you would look for a $45 article.
- Open that article and check its status, published URL, and publish date.
π οΈ Quick Fixes to Try First
- Refresh the page and check your pending balance again, as recent changes may take a little time to appear.
- Confirm the published URL is live and matches the one saved in the platform.
- Check that the article is marked as published or completed.
- Make sure the article was submitted under your account and not another one.
If these steps do not resolve the gap, the next step is to ask for a manual review.
π What to Include When You Request a Review
The more detail you give us, the faster we can review your balance. Please have the following ready:
- The pending amount currently shown in the platform.
- The amount you expected, and the difference between the two.
- The title and URL of each article you believe is missing or incorrect.
- The publish date of each of those articles.
- A screenshot of your pending payment page, if possible.
For example: "My pending payment shows $215, but my published articles total $260. I believe the article titled [title], published on [date], is missing. The difference is $45."
β±οΈ What Happens After You Report It
When you report a discrepancy, our team will compare your published articles against your payment records. Depending on what they find, they may:
- Correct the status or details of an article so it counts toward your balance.
- Update your pending amount to reflect the correct total.
- Explain why a particular article is not included in your pending payment.
Any correction is made only after the team has reviewed your records, so please include the details above to avoid delays.
π‘ Tips to Avoid Discrepancies in the Future
- Check your pending payment regularly, not only when a payment is due.
- Confirm each article's status as soon as it is published.
- Keep a simple record of your published articles, URLs, and amounts.
- Report any gap as soon as you notice it, while the details are fresh.
