🔍 How OTTO billing is counted
OTTO site billing and quota are based on the number of OTTO projects, not the number of working pixels installed on your websites.
A project can still use an OTTO site slot even when its pixel is missing, inactive, duplicated, or incorrectly installed. Removing a pixel from your site does not automatically remove the OTTO project or release its slot.
📌 What counts toward your limit
- Active OTTO projects: Count toward your OTTO site allocation.
- Frozen projects: Continue to count until the project is removed and its quota is returned.
- Installed pixels: Their status does not determine your OTTO project count.
- Deleted projects: Soft-deleted projects no longer count once the quota is reset.
🛠️ How to reduce your OTTO site count
- Open OTTO SEO from the left sidebar.
- Review the projects listed there and identify sites you no longer want to use.
- For each unused site, use the available project removal or deletion option.
- Confirm that the project is removed rather than only frozen or disconnected.
- Refresh OTTO SEO and check your available site allocation.
Removing the pixel alone is not enough. To release the OTTO slot, remove the corresponding OTTO project. If you still need the project later, freezing it may preserve its settings, but frozen projects can continue to count toward your allocation.
📊 Check a pixel before removing it
If a project should be active, first confirm whether the pixel is installed correctly. Open Site Metrics from the left sidebar and review the relevant site pages, events, or site overview. You can also return to OTTO SEO to review the project’s installation status.
Pixel status checks can occasionally report a missing or incorrect installation even when the pixel is present. Treat the project count as the source for OTTO site usage, not the number of pixels reported as active.
✅ Recommended cleanup approach
- Keep OTTO projects for sites you actively manage.
- Remove projects for sites that are permanently inactive or no longer use OTTO.
- Do not rely on uninstalling a pixel to reduce your OTTO site count.
- After cleanup, allow the platform to refresh the quota before adding another site.
