🔎 What are AI Agent credits?
AI Agent credits are a dedicated balance used by Atlas Agent to complete tasks in your Search Atlas account. They are separate from AI Quota Generation, Premium, and Hyperdrive balances.
Because these balances are separate, having available AI Quota does not necessarily mean you have AI Agent credits available.
⚙️ What uses AI Agent credits?
- OTTO tasks: Tasks run by OTTO through Atlas Agent can consume AI Agent credits.
- Agent-initiated feature runs: When Atlas Agent starts or performs an eligible Search Atlas feature action, credits may be used.
- Repeated or large tasks: A task that processes multiple pages, keywords, or recommendations may use more credits than a smaller task.
Credits are consumed when the agent performs work, not simply because OTTO is enabled. The amount used depends on the task and the work required.
📊 How to check your balance and usage
- Sign in to Search Atlas.
- Open the account, plan, or usage area where AI consumption is displayed.
- Locate the section labelled AI Agent credits. Do not use the AI Quota Generation, Premium, or Hyperdrive balance for this check.
- Open the usage history or activity details to review credit consumption by date and task.
- Compare the activity dates with your OTTO task schedule to identify what consumed credits.
The usage history is the best way to investigate rapid consumption, such as credits being used within three days. Review task names, timestamps, quantities, and any associated project or workflow details when available.
📅 Credit resets and billing periods
AI Agent credits reset according to the date shown in the AI Agent credit section. This date may differ from the reset date for other AI balances. Check the displayed reset date rather than assuming all AI allowances renew together.
Unused credits may not carry over, depending on your plan. The balance and usage panel provides the current availability and applicable reset information.
🚫 “You’re out of AI Agent credits”
This message means the dedicated AI Agent credit pool has reached zero or does not have enough credits for the requested task. It does not mean that all AI Quota balances are empty.
- Check the AI Agent balance, not the general AI Quota balances.
- Review usage history for recent OTTO tasks and agent-initiated runs.
- Pause or reduce nonessential OTTO tasks until the balance resets or additional credits are available.
- Check the displayed reset date and confirm that the task is scheduled after credits become available.
- Retry the task only after confirming available AI Agent credits.
🧭 If usage is unexpected
Filter the usage history to the relevant three-day period and compare each entry with your OTTO activity. Look for multiple runs, broad page selections, repeated retries, or workflows that processed more items than expected.
If the history does not explain the balance change, record the affected dates, task names, projects, and screenshots of the AI Agent credit panel before requesting help.
