π Why reruns become restricted
Playbook rerun restrictions help prevent duplicate changes and repeated work. After a redirect is created or updated, the affected URL may remain restricted until Search Atlas refreshes its crawl and confirms the current page state.
π How redirects affect Playbooks
A redirect can change the URL that a Playbook should evaluate. The original URL may no longer be eligible for another run, while the destination URL may need to be crawled before recommendations or fixes can continue.
π οΈ Reset the restriction
- Confirm that the redirect points to the intended destination and does not create a redirect loop.
- Run a fresh crawl for the affected site or URL so Search Atlas can update its page status.
- Open the relevant Playbook and review the affected task after the crawl finishes.
- If the rerun option is available, rerun the Playbook on the current destination URL.
- Review the result and confirm that the Otto error is resolved before applying additional changes.
π¦ Can a crawl or restriction be overridden?
Customers cannot directly override crawl processing or Playbook rerun safeguards from the platform. These protections prevent conflicting changes and inaccurate results. A fresh crawl and review of the destination URL are the recommended way to reset the workflow after a redirect.
β If the restriction remains
- Check that the destination URL returns the expected status code.
- Verify that the redirect is not chained, looping, or pointing to an unavailable page.
- Make sure the destination is included in the site configuration and is not blocked from crawling.
- Wait for the crawl to complete, then reopen the Playbook and check its latest status.
