🚀 What You Can White Label
The Agency Whitelabel feature lets you present the Search Atlas platform under your own brand. You can connect a custom domain, add your logo and brand colors, and give your clients a fully white-labeled dashboard. From the Agency Whitelabel area you can also manage the Site Analysis Lead Capture Widget, your Affiliate Link, and join the SEOTheory Community.
🧭 Open the Agency Whitelabel Settings
- Log in to your Search Atlas account.
- In the left navigation, click More Features.
- Select Agency Whitelabel.
You will land on the Agency Settings page (/agency-settings), where you will find White Label Setup, Settings, the Site Analysis Lead Capture Widget, your Affiliate Link, and the option to Join the SEOTheory Community.
🌐 Add Your Custom Domain
- Go to More Features → Agency Whitelabel.
- Open the White Label Setup section.
- Enter the domain you want to use for your white label dashboard, for example app.youragency.com.
- Click Save.
We strongly recommend using a subdomain (such as app.youragency.com or portal.youragency.com) instead of your root domain. This keeps your main website untouched and avoids DNS conflicts.
🧾 Create Your DNS Record
Both A records and CNAME records are confirmed and fully supported for white label setup. You only need one of the two options below. Do not create both an A record and a CNAME for the same host, as this will cause a conflict.
Option 1 — A Record (recommended):
- Type: A
- Host / Name: your subdomain. For app.youragency.com, enter app. For the root domain youragency.com, enter @.
- **Points to / Value:**35.243.150.225
- TTL: leave at the default value, or set it to 3600
Option 2 — CNAME Record:
- Type: CNAME
- Host / Name: your subdomain, for example app
- Points to / Value: the white label endpoint displayed in the White Label Setup screen of your account
- TTL: leave at the default value
Note that a CNAME record cannot be placed on a root domain due to how DNS works. If you must use your root domain, choose the A record option and point it to 35.243.150.225. If you use Cloudflare, set the record's proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud), otherwise the SSL certificate cannot be issued.
🔒 Wait for Propagation and SSL
After saving your DNS record, DNS propagation can take anywhere from a few minutes up to 24-48 hours, though most setups complete within a few hours. Once your DNS changes have propagated, Search Atlas automatically issues and installs a free SSL certificate for your custom domain so your white label dashboard loads securely over HTTPS. You can check the connection status at any time in the White Label Setup screen.
🎨 Brand Your Dashboard
While DNS propagates, finish your branding in the White Label Setup and Settings sections:
- Upload your logo and favicon.
- Set your brand colors for the dashboard interface.
- Customize the login page your clients will see.
- Review the Site Analysis Lead Capture Widget settings to generate leads under your brand.
⚠️ Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Dashboard will not load: Confirm your A record points exactly to 35.243.150.225, or that your CNAME matches the endpoint shown in White Label Setup. Use any public DNS checker to verify the record has propagated.
- SSL is stuck as pending: DNS may not have fully propagated yet, or your Cloudflare proxy is enabled. Switch the record to DNS only (grey cloud) and wait a few hours.
- Duplicate or conflicting record error: Your DNS provider will reject the new record if an existing A, AAAA, or CNAME record already exists for the same host. Delete the old record first, then create the new one.
- Root domain is not accepted: Some DNS providers do not support A records on root domains or block CNAMEs at the root. In that case, use a subdomain instead.
- Changes are not showing: Lower your TTL to 3600 before editing, then clear your browser cache and recheck after an hour.
