π What causes export problems?
Report Builder supports PDF exports and, in version 3, CSV and Excel downloads. An export may appear empty or fail when report data has not finished loading, filters return no results, the export request times out, or the browser interrupts the download.
Previously identified export issues have been fixed. If a report still exports incorrectly, use the steps below to confirm the report is ready and create a file containing the data currently visible.
π Refresh and reload the report
- Open Reports from the left sidebar.
- Open the affected report.
- Confirm that charts, tables, and metrics are visible and fully loaded.
- Select Refresh data, then wait for the report to finish updating.
- Reload the browser page and confirm the data is still visible.
Do not start the download while sections are still loading or showing blank placeholders.
π§° Check filters and report content
- Review the selected date range, projects, pages, and other filters.
- Temporarily remove restrictive filters and refresh the report.
- Confirm that the visible table or chart contains actual values, not only headings or empty states.
- If only one section is empty, check whether that section has data for the selected period.
π₯ Download the correct format
- From the report, select Download .CSV for a CSV file.
- For Excel, choose the Excel download option available in your Report Builder version.
- For a PDF, use the PDF export option after all report sections have loaded.
- Wait for the download to complete before opening the file.
Exports generally reflect the report data and filters active when the download begins. To export the data currently visible, keep the desired filters applied and verify the on-screen content before downloading.
π οΈ Troubleshoot a failed download
- Try the export again after refreshing the report.
- Use a current browser version and allow downloads for the platform.
- Disable browser extensions that block downloads or pop-ups.
- Try a private browser window or another supported browser.
- For large reports, export after narrowing the date range or reducing the number of selected items.
- Check your downloads folder and browser download history; the file may have completed even if the page did not show a confirmation.
β Verify the exported file
Open the downloaded file and compare it with the report on screen. Confirm that the expected columns, rows, charts, and date range are included. If a CSV or Excel file has headers but no rows, refresh the report, confirm that data is visible, and download it again.
π¬ Get help with a specific report
When contacting support, note the report name, export format, date range, filters, approximate time of the attempt, and whether the data was visible before downloading. This helps the team investigate and generate a valid file when appropriate.
