🔌 How to Remove a Connected Google Ads Account in Campaign Hub

How to properly disconnect or replace a Google Ads integration when Campaign Hub requires at least one active connection.

Updated over a month ago

If you're trying to remove a connected Google Ads account from Campaign Hub and the system won’t let you, you're not alone.

Campaign Hub requires at least one active Google Ads account to remain connected. If your plan only allows one account, you may see a message preventing you from removing it.

Here’s the correct way to fully disconnect your Google Ads account.

⚠️ Why You Can’t Remove It Inside Campaign Hub

Inside Smart Ads → Campaign Hub, you’ll notice:

  • ➕ You can add another account

  • 🚫 But you cannot remove the existing one unless a second account is connected

If your plan only allows one Google Ads connection, Campaign Hub will block the removal.

This is because Campaign Hub needs at least one active Google Ads integration to function properly.

✅ The Correct Way to Remove the Google Ads Account

Instead of removing it inside Campaign Hub, you need to remove the integration from your account settings.

Step-by-step:

1️⃣ Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard
2️⃣ Select Settings
3️⃣ Go to Integrations
4️⃣ Locate Google Ads
5️⃣ Click Remove / Disconnect

This fully removes the Google Ads integration from your account.

Once removed, Campaign Hub will no longer show that connected account.

🔄 What If You Want to Replace the Account?

If you’re switching to a new Google Ads account and your plan allows only one connection:

1️⃣ First remove the integration from Settings → Integrations
2️⃣ Then reconnect the new Google Ads account inside Campaign Hub

📌 Important Plan Limitation

If your plan allows only one Google Ads connection:

  • ⚠️ You cannot have zero accounts connected inside Campaign Hub

  • 🔐 You must remove the integration from Settings, not inside Campaign Hub

Campaign Hub is built to ensure your ad automation remains functional, which is why it prevents removing the last active Google Ads account directly from within the tool. Once you understand where integrations are managed, the process becomes straightforward. By handling removals from the Settings panel instead of Campaign Hub, you maintain system integrity while keeping full control over your connected accounts. If you’re ever unsure, reviewing your plan limits and integration settings is always the first step toward a clean setup.
