This guide will walk you step-by-step through adding the OTTO Pixel to your site using Google Tag Manager (GTM). You’ll know exactly where to click and what to look for — no previous experience required.

Log in to your Search Atlas dashboard at https://dashboard.searchatlas.com/login.
On the left-hand menu, click OTTO & Audit.
At the top of the OTTO SEO section, select v3 using the toggle next to v2.
Select All Sites.
Click the + Create button (top right of the screen).
Add your site (or select it if it’s already listed).
Once your site is added, Search Atlas will show your OTTO Pixel script — copy it exactly as shown.

Log in to your Google Tag Manager account at https://tagmanager.google.com.
On the left menu, click Tags.
In the top right corner of the Tags page, click the New button (white box with a plus sign).
A new panel will slide in from the right — at the top, give your tag a name (e.g., “SearchAtlas Tracking”).

In the same panel, click on the Tag Configuration box (it has a grey icon).
A list of tag types will appear — scroll down to the section labeled Custom.
Click Custom HTML.
In the large text field that appears, paste the OTTO Pixel script you copied from Search Atlas.

Below the HTML field, find the Triggering section and click Choose a trigger to make this tag fire.
A list of triggers will appear — select All Pages so the script runs everywhere on your site.
Click Add (bottom right of the panel).

Back in the tag panel, click Save (top right).
You’ll return to the Tags list — in the top right of GTM, click Submit to publish your container.
In the confirmation screen, click Publish.

Go back to your Search Atlas dashboard.
In OTTO & Audit → All Sites, locate your site in the list.
Click Enable next to your site’s name.

✅ Check that you pasted the correct OTTO Pixel script into GTM.
✅ Confirm the trigger is set to All Pages.
✅ Make sure you have published the container in GTM after saving.
✅ Wait 1–2 minutes, then refresh your Search Atlas dashboard.
✅ If it still says “Not Engaged”, click Enable again in Search Atlas.
✅ You’re all set!
Your OTTO Pixel is now connected to your site through Google Tag Manager and will run on every page you’ve selected.
