💡 What the pricing cap means
Each publication has a maximum rate the platform will accept for a counteroffer. That limit is the pricing cap. If you enter a price above the cap, the dashboard rejects the change and keeps the current rate.
The cap protects buyers and publishers by keeping offers inside an approved range for that site. Raising the price is allowed only when the new rate is at or below the cap shown for the publication.
🛠️ Why your counteroffer was rejected
A rejection usually means the amount you entered is higher than the allowed maximum for that publication, such as yourharlow.com. The system does not save partial or over-cap prices.
Common reasons include:
- The new rate is above the pricing cap for that publication.
- The field was left blank, or the value uses an invalid format.
- The offer is no longer open, so price changes are locked.
- You are editing a different publication than the one tied to the offer.
📊 How to submit an accepted counteroffer
- Open the publication or offer in your publisher dashboard.
- Find the current rate and the maximum price the form will accept.
- Enter a new rate that is equal to or lower than that maximum. Use numbers only, without extra symbols if the field rejects them.
- Save or submit the counteroffer.
- Confirm the updated rate appears on the publication. If the old rate is still shown, the change was not accepted.
You can lower the price at any time within an open offer. You can raise it only up to the cap. A price at the cap is valid. A price even slightly above the cap is not.
🚀 If you need a higher rate
The dashboard cannot override the cap from the price field. Entering the same higher amount again will keep failing.
If your site metrics, placement type, or content requirements have changed and you believe the cap should be reviewed, do not force the price through the form. Note the publication domain, the current rate, the rate you want, and why the higher price is justified. Then contact support with those details so the team can review whether the cap can be updated.
Until a higher cap is approved, set your counteroffer to the maximum allowed rate if you still want the placement, or leave the current rate unchanged.
⚙️ Tips to avoid another rejection
- Check the cap on the specific domain before you type a new price.
- Do not round above the displayed maximum.
- Save once, then refresh the page to confirm the stored rate.
- If several publications need updates, change and confirm each one separately.
