💰 Pending Payouts for Article Placements

Last updated on Oct 29, 2026

💰 What a pending payout means

A pending payout is money earned from a live publication media article placement that has not been released yet. The article can already be published with a dofollow link while the payment stays on hold until review checks finish.

Search Atlas does not email a custom list of URLs or a one-off payment total outside the platform. The placement record in your account is the source of truth for the article URL and the amount currently on hold.

📊 Where to find article URLs and amounts

Open the publication or payout area in your Search Atlas account and review each placement marked pending or on hold. For every row, check these fields:

  • Article URL — the live page where the placement is published.
  • Status — pending, on hold, approved, or paid.
  • Amount — the exact payment tied to that placement.
  • Hold reason — quality, link, or verification notes when one is shown.

Add the amounts on rows that are still pending if you need a running total. Only those rows count as money currently on hold. Paid or rejected rows are not part of the pending balance.

🛠️ Why a live dofollow article can still be on hold

Going live does not always release payment the same day. A payout commonly stays pending when one of these checks is still open:

  • The dofollow link is present but the placement has not passed final quality review.
  • The live URL, anchor, or target page does not match the approved order.
  • The article was edited or removed after it first went live.
  • The publisher payout window has not reached its release date.
  • Account or tax details needed to send payment are incomplete.

If the link later becomes nofollow, is removed, or the page is unpublished, the amount can remain on hold or be reversed. Keep the live URL unchanged until the status moves to paid.

🚀 How payout release works

  1. Confirm the article is live and the agreed dofollow link is still on the page.
  2. Match that URL to the placement row in your account.
  3. Read the amount and status on that same row. That figure is the payment on hold for that article.
  4. Complete any profile or payout details the platform flags as missing.
  5. Wait for the status to change from pending to paid after review and the payout window close.

We cannot confirm a different total in chat than the sum of pending rows in your account. If a URL is missing from the list, the placement may not be tied to your publisher profile yet.

💡 What to check before you contact support

  • Copy the live article URL from the page, not from a draft or preview.
  • Note the amount shown on the matching pending row.
  • Confirm the link is dofollow and points to the approved target.
  • Check that your payout method and profile details are complete.
  • Look for a status note that explains the hold.

Share those URLs and the on-screen amounts if a row looks wrong. Support can review the placement record. They cannot create a payment that is not listed, change a live amount by request, or pay out funds that are still in review.
