📅 What you can request on an order
You can ask a publisher not to publish before a specific date and to mark your link with rel="sponsored". Add both requests in Special Instructions before the publisher starts the order. There is no separate calendar control that automatically blocks an early publish date or inserts the tag for you.
Clear instructions written on the order are part of the placement request. Publishers are expected to follow them. Because a person applies them while preparing the post, wording and timing matter.
📝 How to add the hold date and sponsored tag
- Open the order and locate Special Instructions before you submit it. If the order is already placed, add the note only while the field is still editable and before work has started.
- Write the earliest allowed publish date as a full calendar date, and include the time zone. Avoid relative wording such as "next week."
- State that the post must not go live before that date and may publish on or after it.
- Ask the publisher to add rel="sponsored" on your link. If the order has more than one link, name the exact URL or anchor text that needs the tag.
- Save the instructions, then submit the order. Do not rely on a note sent only in a later message.
Use a direct note such as: Do not publish before 15 April 2026, 00:01 US Eastern Time. On our link, add rel="sponsored". Please confirm both items before the post goes live.
✅ What publishers are expected to follow
When both items are in Special Instructions before the order is accepted, the publisher should hold the post until your date and place rel="sponsored" on the link you named. The platform does not insert that attribute or enforce the date automatically.
- A hold date means the post should not appear before that date. It does not reserve an exact publish minute.
- The sponsored tag applies to the link you specify. It does not change other links on the page unless you ask for that.
- Instructions added after the publisher has started, or after the post is live, may be missed and can require a revision.
🔎 How to check the live post
- Confirm the visible publish date is on or after your hold date.
- Open the live page and check the link markup for rel="sponsored" on your URL.
- Compare the live URL and anchor text with the order so you are checking the correct link.
🛠️ If the date or tag is missed
Do not edit the publisher's page yourself. Save the live URL, the publish date you see, and a short note about whether rel="sponsored" is missing. Ask for a correction as soon as you notice the issue so the order can be reviewed with the publisher.
