📌 Overview
If you publish through Publication Media, a payment may be late, or a site may fail verification or quality review. These are separate checks. An article is eligible for payment after it is marked Posted-Follow and has a cost greater than zero. Staff then pays it through PayPal. If an enforced site-verification hold is active and the domain is still unverified, that hold can block the payout. A quality failure can keep the site off the marketplace, but it does not by itself hold payment.
⏳ Why Your Payment May Be Delayed
A payment can be delayed for several reasons. The most common are:
- Site not verified: the verification meta tag could not be found, so ownership of the site was not confirmed. If the tag is later removed, the site can be marked inactive until you add it again and verify the site.
- Quality check not met: the site failed a quality review, such as Domain Authority, organic traffic, spam score, or URL quality grade. This can keep the site inactive on the marketplace, but it does not by itself delay payment.
- There is no separate content-review stage that must finish before a publisher payment is approved. A placement becomes payable once it is Posted-Follow and its cost is greater than zero.
- Missing or incomplete payment details: Payout information is absent, outdated, or needs confirmation.
- Site changes do not automatically delay payment. A domain change is treated as a different site. Moving the site or changing its setup can require verification again only if the verification meta tag is no longer detectable.
Payment timing depends on the remittance being created and then paid by staff through PayPal. Payable placements are grouped into an unpaid remittance, which can remain open for 7 days. A delay does not always mean something is wrong with your account.
✅ How Site Verification Works
Verification confirms that you own or control the site you are submitting. In most cases you complete it once per site. You may be asked to repeat it if something changes that breaks the original confirmation.
You may need to verify again if:
- The verification meta tag was removed from your site. Add the tag again and select Verify.
- You moved the site to a new host or theme and the verification meta tag is no longer present, or you moved it to a new domain. A new domain needs its own verification tag.
- A security plugin or cache may prevent the verification check from seeing your meta tag. The check reports that the tag was not found, so make the tag visible and select Verify again.
- The first attempt did not finish or returned an error.
🔁 How Many Times Do I Need to Verify?
You should not need to verify the same site repeatedly. If Verify did not detect the meta tag, fix the tag first and then select Verify again instead of submitting several attempts in a row.
📉 What to Do If Your Site Shows Low DA or Other Issues
Domain Authority is a third-party style score that estimates how strong a site is. It can change over time and can differ between tools. If the platform flags your site, follow these steps:
- Open the publication card. If an activation attempt failed, it shows the date and the reason. Otherwise, follow the verification instructions shown on the card or in the email you received.
- Check that the site is live, loads quickly, and is not blocked from being crawled.
- Confirm the site has original, high-quality content and is not mostly empty or duplicated.
- Make sure your verification meta tag is still in the head section of your site.
- Wait for the metrics to refresh, then resubmit the site for review if the option is available.
Please note that sites below the required quality standards may not be eligible for payment until they meet the requirements.
🛠️ Step-by-Step: Resolve a Verification Failure
- Log in to the platform and open the Publication Media section.
- Select the site that failed verification.
- Read the error message and note the exact wording.
- Check that the verification code or file is present on the live site, not just in a draft or staging version.
- Temporarily pause any security, firewall, or caching tool that could block the check.
- Run verification once and wait for the result.
- If it still fails, take a screenshot of the error and gather the details listed below.
💰 Step-by-Step: Check a Late Payment
- Confirm the site shows as verified and has no quality flags.
- Check that your payout details are complete and correct.
- Review the status of the content tied to the payment, such as published, pending, or under review.
- Allow a reasonable amount of time for any pending review to finish.
- If the status looks correct but payment is still missing, contact support with the details below.
