💡 Are Organic Keywords Charged Separately?

Last updated on Oct 26, 2026

❓ The Short Answer

Search Atlas does not add a separate per-keyword fee for organic keywords. Organic keyword data is part of the research and reporting tools included in your plan. Some features, such as tracking keywords over time, may have limits that depend on your plan.

This article explains the difference between viewing organic keyword data and tracking keywords, so you know what to expect.

🔍 What Are Organic Keywords?

Organic keywords are the search terms a website appears for in unpaid search results. In Search Atlas, you will usually see them when you:

  • Analyze your own website or a competitor's website
  • Review which pages bring in search traffic
  • Look for new keyword ideas and ranking opportunities

📊 Viewing vs. Tracking Keywords

Two different actions are often mixed up, and they are treated differently.

  • Viewing organic keywords: Looking at the keywords a domain ranks for in research and reporting tools. This is part of your plan and is not billed per keyword.
  • Tracking keywords: Adding keywords to a project so Search Atlas monitors their rankings regularly. Your plan may include a set number of tracked keywords or projects.

If you reach a limit, you will not be charged automatically for each extra keyword. You can remove keywords you no longer need, or review whether a different plan fits your needs.

💳 What Could Change Your Bill?

Organic keywords by themselves do not create extra charges. Your bill may change if you:

  • Upgrade or downgrade your plan
  • Add optional features or services that are priced separately
  • Change your billing cycle, for example from monthly to annual

Plan inclusions can vary by subscription, so always check your own plan details for the most accurate information.

🛠️ How to Check Your Plan and Usage

  1. Log in to your Search Atlas account.
  2. Open your account or billing settings.
  3. Review the plan you are on and the features and limits it includes.
  4. Check your invoices to see exactly what you were charged for.

If a limit applies to your plan, you will typically see it in the tool where you add or track keywords.

💡 Tips to Get the Most From Your Plan

  • Track only the keywords that matter most to your goals, such as those tied to key pages or revenue.
  • Use research tools to explore large keyword lists without needing to track every term.
  • Review your tracked keywords regularly and remove outdated ones.
  • Group keywords by project or topic to keep reports organized.
