📌 Overview
Some customers see a large credit drop after using Atlas Brain for Meta Ads and are unsure what they received. This is especially confusing when nothing appears to have changed in the account, or when no ads are running. This article explains how credit usage works, why it can look unexpected, and what to do if you want a usage charge reviewed.
🧠 How Credits Are Used in Atlas Brain
Atlas Brain is an AI assistant. Credits generally reflect the amount of AI work done on your request, not whether a visible change was made in your Meta Ads account. Credits can be used when Atlas Brain does things like:
- Reads and analyzes your connected ad account, campaigns, or audience data
- Generates ad copy, headlines, creative ideas, or multiple variations
- Works through a multi-step request, such as reviewing, planning, and drafting
- Processes a long conversation, since earlier messages are often re-read with each new reply
- Retries or refines a task after you ask for adjustments
Because of this, a single broad request or a long chat can use far more credits than a short, specific one.
❓ Why Credits Can Be Used Even If No Ads Are Running
Atlas Brain does not need live ads to do its work. It can analyze account data, draft new concepts, and suggest strategy before any campaign exists. Credits are tied to that AI processing. If you asked for ad generation, credits may be used when the content is drafted, even if you have not launched anything.
If your account has no running ads, Atlas Brain may also have little data to work from. In that case, results can feel generic or empty, even though processing still took place.
🔄 Why Your Request May Not Have Changed Anything
If you asked for a change and did not see it, one of these is often the reason:
- Suggestions versus applied changes: Atlas Brain may have drafted recommendations or copy that still need to be reviewed, approved, or published by you.
- Account connection or permissions: If your Meta Ads account is not fully connected, or access is limited, changes cannot be applied.
- Unclear or very broad prompts: General requests can lead to long, exploratory responses instead of the specific edit you wanted.
- Nothing to edit: If no ads or campaigns exist, there may be nothing to modify yet.
🔍 How to Review What Happened
- Open Atlas Brain and go to the conversation where you made the request.
- Scroll through the full thread and note each step Atlas Brain took, including drafts, analyses, and any retries.
- Check whether Atlas Brain asked for confirmation or approval that was never completed.
- Open your credit usage or billing section in the platform to see when the credits were deducted.
- Confirm that your Meta Ads account is connected and that Atlas Brain has the access it needs.
🛠️ Tips to Use Fewer Credits
- Be specific: Name the campaign, the ad, and the exact change you want.
- Break big tasks into smaller steps: This makes results easier to check before moving on.
- Start a new conversation for a new task: Long threads can use more credits per reply.
- Limit variations: Ask for a few options instead of many.
- Verify your connection first: Make sure your Meta Ads account is linked before requesting changes.

- The approximate date and time of the conversation
- The number of credits you expected versus the number deducted
- What you asked Atlas Brain to do
- What you expected to happen and what actually happened
- Screenshots of the conversation and your credit usage, if possible
