The Backlinks section in Site Explorer provides a complete view of all links pointing to a domain, including their sources, growth trends, attributes, and structure.

This tool allows you to measure link authority, track backlink acquisition and losses, analyze link quality, and explore the full ecosystem of domains, anchors, and IPs connected to your website.

You can also segment and filter backlinks using advanced controls to uncover actionable SEO insights.

πŸš€ How to Access Backlinks

Step-by-Step

  1. From the left sidebar, click Site Metrics

  2. Click Site Explorer

  3. Enter your domain in the search bar

  4. Select Domain from the dropdown

  5. Choose a country (e.g., United States)

  6. Click Search

  7. In the left panel, click Backlinks

πŸ“Š Top Metrics

At the top of the Backlinks dashboard, you will see:

  • Backlinks
    The total number of links from other websites pointing to your target.

  • Referring Domains
    The total number of unique domains linking to your target.

  • Referring IPs
    The total number of referring IPs that have at least one link pointing to an analyzed domain/URL.

Use the dropdown next to the search bar to change the analysis scope:

  • Domain

  • Sub Domain

  • Target Page

  • Sub Folder

The main chart displays backlink activity over time:

  • New Links

  • New ref. domains

  • Lost ref. domains

  • Lost Links

View mode:

  • Weekly

This helps identify link-building trends and sudden gains or losses.

The Historical totals chart shows long-term trends for:

Displays follow vs nofollow distribution:

  • Follow links pass on link juice and boost PageRank of the linked-to sites.

  • Nofollow links do not pass link juice.

The Network graph tab visualizes:

  • Domains on shared network
