πŸ” Fix a Wrong Google Business Profile Import

Last updated on Nov 05, 2026

⚠️ Why the wrong business was imported

Search Atlas lists the Google Business Profiles available from the Google account you connect. If that account manages more than one listing, or if two businesses have similar names, the wrong listing can be selected as a GBP Project. Reviews, photos, and location details then come from that listing instead of the business you want to track.

🚫 Do not unpublish and republish reviews

Unpublishing and republishing Google reviews will not make Search Atlas switch to the correct business. A review stays on the Google listing where it was posted. Search Atlas hides a review only after Google stops returning it on a full sync. That does not move reviews to another profile or correct a wrong listing selection.

πŸ› οΈ Replace the incorrect profile

  1. In Google Business Profile, note the exact business name, address, and phone number of the listing you want.
  2. In Search Atlas, open GBP Projects under GBP Galactic. This is the list of connected Google Business Profiles, not the individual project page.
  3. Open Google Businesses Found from GBP Projects. Uncheck the wrong Google Business Profile and save. This removes it from your active GBP Projects. It does not delete the Google listing.
  4. In Google Businesses Found, check the listing whose name and address match the business you confirmed. Use the maps link if you need to verify it. Then continue.
  5. Save the connection and allow time for the new data to sync.

πŸ“Š What happens to your reviews

After the correct profile is saved, Search Atlas imports the reviews Google returns for that listing. Reviews Google no longer returns are marked unpublished and hidden. Reviews from the unchecked listing no longer appear in your active projects. Search Atlas does not create, delete, or move reviews between businesses.

βœ… Confirm you connected the right listing

  • The business name matches the name on Google.
  • The street address and city match.
  • The phone number matches.
  • The review count and recent review text match the public Google listing.

If one brand has several locations, choose the location you want to report on. A different location imports that location’s reviews instead.
