💳 Request a Past-Due Payment Delay

Last updated on Nov 05, 2026

💳 What this article covers

This article explains how to ask for a short delay when a Search Atlas bill is past due and you expect to pay within the next couple of weeks. A cash-flow problem does not automatically pause billing. You need to request a review so our team can confirm what is possible for your account.

📌 Before you assume the delay is approved

An unpaid invoice stays past due until it is paid or our team confirms a different arrangement. Until then, payment retries may continue, and access to paid features can be limited or suspended under your plan terms. Do not wait for the due date to pass without contacting us.

  • Approval is not automatic. Each request is reviewed for that account.
  • A message alone is not a payment plan. Keep the chat open until a team member confirms the outcome.
  • Pay as soon as funds are available. A requested date is a target, not a guarantee that service will stay fully active.

🛠️ How to request a delay

  1. Sign in to Search Atlas and open the live chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform.
  2. Send a message that you have a past-due balance and need a short payment delay because of cash flow.
  3. Include the details listed below so the team can review the account without extra back-and-forth.
  4. Stay available in the chat. A member of our support team will reply in the chat with the decision and any next step.
  5. When funds are available, complete payment promptly and tell the chat agent that the invoice has been paid.

📝 Details to include in your message

  • The account email or workspace name on the invoice.
  • The invoice amount and the date it was due, if you have them.
  • The date you expect to pay, ideally within the next couple of weeks.
  • Whether this is a one-time delay or you expect another payment issue.
  • Any payment error you already saw, such as a declined card.

You do not need to share full card numbers or bank login details in chat. Update the payment method inside the platform if the card on file is no longer valid.

⚙️ What our team can and cannot confirm

Support can review the past-due balance, tell you the amount owed, and say whether a short delay can be noted on the account. They can also explain if access is at risk while the invoice remains unpaid.

Support cannot promise that collections, retries, or plan limits will stop unless that is confirmed in the chat for your account. If a delay is not possible, pay the invoice or update your payment method to restore normal billing.

💡 How to reduce future billing issues

  • Keep a valid card or payment method on the account before the renewal date.
  • Watch for billing notices and failed-payment messages inside the platform.
  • Contact chat as soon as you know a payment will be late, not after access is interrupted.
  • If your plan no longer fits your budget, ask in chat about plan options before the invoice becomes past due.

💬 If you still need help

If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and send your message. A member of our support team will reply in the chat.
