๐ก What a publisher earnings shortfall is
A shortfall is the difference between the publisher earnings you were expected to receive for a period and the amount that was actually recorded. It can happen when reported revenue is adjusted after the original earning date, such as on dates like July 30 or August 5.
A shortfall is an account-specific adjustment. This article explains how payout timing and Earning History work. It cannot list a dollar amount for every publisher.
๐ When a shortfall is paid
Shortfall amounts are paid on the next scheduled publisher payout after the adjustment is finalized. They are not paid on the original earning date, and they do not follow a separate calendar unless your Earning History shows a different payout date.
- Original dates such as 7/30 and 8/5 identify the earning periods being corrected.
- Payout date is the later date when the finalized shortfall is included in a payout.
- Pending adjustments stay unpaid until review is complete and the amount is posted.
Because review time can vary, the exact pay date for those periods is confirmed only in your account after the lines are posted.
๐ How to confirm your exact amounts
Open Earning History in your publisher account and filter or scroll to the original dates and later payout dates.
- Find the entries dated 7/30 and 8/5.
- Note the original earning and any later adjustment tied to those dates.
- Subtract the recorded earning from the expected earning to see each shortfall.
- Check the payout column or payout date on the adjustment for when it will be, or was, paid.
If a line is still missing, the shortfall has not been finalized. A general article cannot state those two amounts or promise a deposit date before they appear in your history.
๐งพ How the shortfall appears in Earning History
A finalized shortfall is shown as its own line, not folded silently into the original earning. Look for a separate line labeled as a shortfall, adjustment, or correction. That line should reference the original earning period so you can match it to 7/30 or 8/5.
- Separate line: the shortfall amount, status, and payout date.
- Original line: the earning first recorded for that date, left unchanged.
- Payout total: the shortfall included with other amounts paid on the same payout date.
You will not usually see the shortfall as a second copy of the original earning. Use the adjustment line to confirm what will be paid.
โ What to check before contacting support
- The original earning dates, including 7/30 and 8/5.
- Any adjustment lines linked to those dates.
- The status, such as pending or finalized.
- The payout date and amount on each adjustment line.
- Whether the amount already appears in a completed payout total.
If those lines are visible, the amount and pay date shown there are the confirmed figures for your account.
๐ฌ When you still need account-specific confirmation
If the 7/30 or 8/5 shortfall is missing, the amount looks wrong, or no payout date is shown, support can review your publisher account and confirm the finalized amount, pay date, and line presentation.
