💳 Refund Credits for Failed Article Generation

Last updated on Oct 29, 2026

💳 When Article Credits Are Used

Search Atlas uses credits when you start an article generation. Credits are applied at the moment the request is submitted, not only after you approve the draft. A successful run that finishes and returns an article uses those credits, even if you later decide the tone, length, or topic is not what you wanted.

Credits are meant to cover the generation attempt itself. Editing, regenerating, or discarding a finished article does not automatically return them.

🛠️ What Counts as a Failed Generation

A refund review is appropriate when the platform did not deliver a usable article because of a system problem. Common examples include:

  • The generation stops with an error and no article is created.
  • The job stays stuck and never completes.
  • The result is blank, cut off, or clearly broken rather than a full article.
  • You are charged more than once for a single attempt that failed.

A refund is generally not available only because you dislike the writing style, keywords, or angle of a completed article. Personal preference is different from a failed generation. If the article was produced successfully, the credit was used as intended.

📊 How to Request a Credit Refund

If a generation failed, gather a few details before you contact support so the review can move quickly:

  1. Note the project or article name and the approximate date and time you started the generation.
  2. Describe what happened, such as an error message, a blank result, or a job that never finished.
  3. Include how many credits were removed and whether you were charged more than once.
  4. Do not start repeated retries for the same failed job until you have noted the first attempt. Extra attempts can use more credits.

Open a request from inside the platform. Our team will check the generation record and restore credits when the attempt failed and no usable article was delivered. Refunds are reviewed case by case and are not instant.

If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be instantly connected with a member of our team.

💡 Tips to Avoid Wasted Credits

  • Confirm the topic, target keyword, and brief before you generate.
  • Wait for one job to finish or fail before starting another on the same article.
  • Review error messages before you click generate again.
  • Use smaller test runs when you are trying a new content type or settings.

Clear inputs and a single completed attempt are the best way to get an article you can use without spending extra credits.
