π What reducing OTTO licenses means
Each OTTO SEO license covers one website. If you currently have 17 licenses and only need 15, you must stop using OTTO on two sites first, then lower the license quantity on your subscription. The platform will not reduce the paid count while more sites are still using OTTO than your new total allows.
β Check your current usage
Before you change billing, confirm which sites should keep OTTO.
- Open OTTO SEO from the main platform menu.
- Review the list of sites with OTTO installed or active.
- Count the active sites and decide which two you want to remove so you end at 15.
- Make sure you are signed in as an account owner or a user who can manage billing and sites.
ποΈ Remove OTTO from sites you no longer need
Remove OTTO from each extra site before you lower the license count.
- In OTTO SEO, open the site you want to remove.
- Go to that siteβs OTTO settings.
- Choose the option to remove, uninstall, or deactivate OTTO for that site.
- Confirm the removal when prompted.
- Repeat for every extra site until the number of active OTTO sites is 15 or fewer.
Removing OTTO stops new OTTO work on that site. It does not delete the website from your account, and it does not automatically change your bill until you update the license quantity.
π Lower the license quantity
- Open your account or billing area from the platform menu.
- Find the OTTO SEO subscription and the current site license quantity.
- Edit the quantity and set it to 15, or to the lower number you need.
- Review the updated total and confirm the change.
- Return to OTTO SEO and confirm the active site count matches the new license total.
If the quantity field will not go below your current active sites, one or more sites still have OTTO assigned. Remove those sites first, refresh the page, and try again.
π‘ What to expect after the change
- The sites you kept continue to use OTTO as before.
- Removed sites no longer consume a license.
- Your subscription should show the new quantity after you confirm it.
- Billing changes follow your current plan terms. The next invoice reflects the lower quantity; this article cannot promise a specific refund or proration amount.
π οΈ If the count still will not decrease
- Refresh OTTO SEO and recount active sites. Pending or recently removed sites may still appear until the page reloads.
- Check that you removed OTTO from the site itself, not only archived a project or hidden it from a view.
- Confirm no other team member reinstalled OTTO while you were editing billing.
- Try the change again in a private browser window if the old quantity remains on screen.
- If you need fewer licenses than the minimum shown for your plan, the plan itself may need a change rather than a quantity edit.
