๐ก Why the invitation prompt still appears
A completed domain setup does not always mean the whitelabel site is ready to sign people in. The invitation message usually means the browser is not reaching a fully verified, published whitelabel domain, or the person opening the link has not been added as a user yet. Domain configuration and user access are two separate steps.
๐ Open the exact whitelabel address
Use the full custom domain you connected, including https://, and not an older Search Atlas link, a preview link, or a bookmark from before the domain was connected.
- Confirm the address matches the domain saved in your whitelabel settings, with no extra path or typo.
- If both the root domain and www version exist, open the version you configured. The other version can still show the invitation screen.
- Avoid opening the link inside an email preview or a cached browser tab.
โ Confirm the domain is verified and active
In the platform, open your whitelabel or custom domain settings and check the status of the domain you connected.
- Make sure the domain shows as verified or connected, not pending, failed, or incomplete.
- Confirm the DNS record still points to the value shown in the platform. A record that was changed later can leave the domain looking finished while traffic goes somewhere else.
- Wait for DNS changes to finish updating. This can take from a few minutes up to 48 hours.
- If an SSL or security status is shown, wait until it is active before testing again. An unfinished certificate can send visitors to the wrong page.
- Save or republish the whitelabel settings if the platform offers that action, then test in a new browser window.
๐ฅ Check whether this person was invited
The invitation screen is expected when someone has not been added to the account that owns the whitelabel domain. Connecting a domain does not invite every visitor automatically.
- Sign in as the account owner and confirm the person has a pending or accepted invitation.
- Invite them again if the original invitation expired, was sent to the wrong email, or was never accepted.
- Ask them to open the newest invitation email and finish creating or confirming their login before using the custom domain.
- Make sure they are not signed into a different account in the same browser.
๐งน Rule out browser and cache issues
After DNS or access changes, the old invitation page is often cached.
- Try a private or incognito window.
- Clear the cache for that domain, or hard-refresh the page.
- Disable VPN, proxy, or aggressive privacy extensions while testing.
- Try a second browser or device to confirm the result.
๐ ๏ธ Common reasons it still fails
- The domain looks configured, but verification never completed.
- The visitor is using www, http, or an old URL instead of the verified address.
- DNS was updated at the registrar but has not finished propagating.
- The person needs a user invitation and does not yet have access.
- An old invitation was accepted under a different email address.
