💳 Understanding and Removing OTTO SEO Top-Ups

Last updated on Oct 29, 2026

💡 What an OTTO SEO top-up is

An OTTO SEO top-up is an add-on on your Search Atlas subscription. It increases what your plan includes, such as extra site capacity, pages, or OTTO usage, and it is billed in addition to your base plan. A top-up can be a one-time purchase or a recurring add-on that renews with your billing cycle.

Seeing a top-up does not always mean you currently have more than two active sites. The charge follows the add-on on the account, not only the sites you are using today.

📊 Why you may be charged when you use only two sites

Extra OTTO SEO charges usually come from one of these situations:

  • A top-up is still active. Someone on the account added it earlier, and it keeps renewing even if you later removed sites or stopped using the extra capacity.
  • The top-up is not only for sites. Some add-ons cover pages, keywords, or OTTO actions. Two sites can still exceed the allowance included in your plan.
  • A site was connected, then removed. Removing a site from OTTO does not always cancel a purchased top-up. The add-on stays until it is turned off.
  • More than one workspace or user. A teammate may have bought the top-up on a shared billing account.
  • Timing of the invoice. A charge can be a renewal, a prorated add-on from mid-cycle, or a previous top-up that posted after you reduced usage.

🛠️ How to review the charge

  1. Open your account Billing or subscription area and find the latest invoice.
  2. Look for a line that mentions OTTO SEO and top-up, add-on, or extra capacity. Note the date, amount, and whether it is recurring.
  3. In OTTO SEO, confirm how many sites are connected and whether any extra capacity is still assigned.
  4. Check who has billing access. Ask teammates if they added a top-up.
  5. Compare the invoice period with when you reduced usage. A charge inside a period you already paid for may be a renewal of an add-on that was still on.

If the invoice line does not match any active add-on or any usage you recognize, treat it as a billing review, not as proof that you need more sites.

⚙️ How to remove a top-up

  1. Go to Billing or your subscription settings and open active add-ons.
  2. Select the OTTO SEO top-up you do not want.
  3. Choose Remove or Cancel so it does not renew on the next cycle.
  4. Confirm the change and check that the add-on shows as canceled or scheduled to end.
  5. Keep a copy of the invoice and the date you canceled. Future invoices should no longer include that top-up after the current period ends.

Canceling a top-up stops future renewals. It does not always refund a charge that has already been collected for the current period. Unused time and eligibility for a credit are reviewed case by case.

🚀 What to include if you want the charge reviewed

Have these details ready so the review is faster:

  • The invoice date and the exact top-up amount
  • How many sites you actively use in OTTO SEO (for example, two)
  • Whether you or a teammate added the top-up
  • The date you removed extra sites or asked to cancel the add-on
  • What you want: stop future renewals, remove the add-on, or review a charge already posted

Our team can confirm what the line item covers, remove an unwanted recurring top-up, and tell you whether that specific charge can be credited. Do not dispute the charge with your bank before we review it. A bank dispute can interrupt your subscription while the invoice is still open.
