🏷️ Why old branding keeps coming back
White-label branding is stored on your Search Atlas agency account, not only inside each client website. Plugin updates and new client setups pull that saved profile and apply it again. If the profile still has a former employee’s name, logo, or email sender, every update and every new install puts that branding back—even if you already fixed it on one site.
Editing the plugin only on a client site is temporary. The next update overwrites those local changes with whatever is saved in your account.
⚙️ Update branding at the source
Change the white-label profile once, in your agency account, before you touch individual sites.
- Sign in to Search Atlas with the agency account that owns the white-label clients.
- Open your White Label settings.
- Replace the old employee name, company name, logo, support text, and any email sender or from-name fields with your current branding.
- Save the profile and confirm the preview shows only the new details.
Do this on the parent agency account. A change made while viewing one client site does not update the master profile used for installs and updates.
🔄 Refresh sites that already have the old plugin
After the account profile is correct, refresh each affected site so it receives the new branding.
- Open the client website and go to the Search Atlas plugin.
- Update the plugin to the latest version, or disconnect and reconnect it if an update alone does not refresh branding.
- Confirm the plugin header, setup screens, and any branded notices show your current name—not the former employee and not a blank unbranded plugin.
- Send or trigger a test email from that site and check the sender name and signature.
Repeat for every site that still shows the old name. Sites updated before you fixed the account profile will keep the old branding until they are refreshed.
🚀 What new clients receive during setup
When a client goes through setup, the plugin they install is branded from your saved white-label profile at that moment. If the profile was outdated, they receive an unbranded plugin or one labeled with the old employee. After you save the correct profile, new setups should install with your current branding. Finish the account update before you send new clients through setup.
✉️ Stop emails that still use the old name
- Check every name field in White Label settings, including email from-name and signature, not only the logo.
- Save, then refresh the plugin on the site that sends the email.
- Send a new test. Older messages already delivered will still show the previous name; only new messages use the updated profile.
- If a teammate’s personal mailbox was used as the sender, replace it with a shared agency address you control.
🛠️ If the old name still appears
- Confirm you edited the agency account that actually owns the client, not a personal login or a different workspace.
- Look for a second, older white-label profile and remove or update it so installs cannot fall back to it.
- Update the plugin again after saving. A refresh done before the save will not pick up the new branding.
- Hard-refresh the WordPress admin screen so you are not viewing a cached plugin page.
- For a site that stays unbranded, disconnect the plugin, then run setup again so it re-downloads branding from the current profile.
