📌 Overview
If you moved your website from GoHighLevel (GHL) to Vercel, your old GHL integration in Search Atlas no longer points to your live site. To keep OTTO SEO working, you need to disconnect GHL and connect your Vercel site. This article walks you through both steps and explains how to confirm everything works.
Note: Screen labels may differ slightly depending on your account and platform version. If something looks different from the steps below, use the chat option at the end of this article.
✅ Before You Start
Have the following ready so the process goes smoothly:
- Your website is already live on Vercel and loads on your domain.
- You can sign in to your Vercel account with permission to manage the project.
- You can sign in to Search Atlas as the account owner or an admin.
- You know which domain or project in Search Atlas was linked to GHL.
🔌 Step 1: Disconnect the GHL Integration
Disconnect GHL first so the old connection does not conflict with your new setup.
- Sign in to Search Atlas and open the project or domain that was connected to GHL.
- Go to the OTTO section and open its installation or integration settings.
- Find the GoHighLevel (GHL) connection.
- Select Disconnect (or Remove) and confirm.
- Refresh the page and check that GHL no longer shows as connected.
If you also want to stop any leftover OTTO code on your old GHL site, remove any OTTO script or snippet you added there. This is only needed if that GHL site is still online.
🚀 Step 2: Connect Vercel and Install OTTO
- In the same project, return to the OTTO installation settings.
- Choose Vercel as your installation method or platform.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to authorize access to your Vercel account. You may be asked to sign in to Vercel or provide an access token.
- Select the Vercel project that hosts your website.
- Confirm the installation and wait for the setup to finish.
- If prompted, redeploy your Vercel project so the changes go live.
Tip: Make sure the domain in Search Atlas matches the domain on your Vercel project exactly, including whether it uses www or not.
🔍 Step 3: Confirm OTTO Is Working
After setup, check that the connection is active:
- In Search Atlas, confirm the OTTO status shows as Connected or Installed.
- Visit your live website and make sure it loads normally.
- Allow some time for OTTO to detect your site and apply optimizations. This can take a little while after a fresh install.
- Re-run the installation check in OTTO if the platform offers one.
🛠️ Troubleshooting Common Issues
- OTTO still shows as not installed: Redeploy your Vercel project, wait a few minutes, and check again.
- GHL still appears as connected: Refresh the page or sign out and back in. If it stays connected, try disconnecting again.
- Vercel project does not appear in the list: Check that you authorized the correct Vercel account or team, and that you have access to the project.
- Domain mismatch: Check that your project domain in Search Atlas matches the live domain on Vercel.
- Old changes are missing: Optimizations applied while you were on GHL do not move automatically. OTTO will re-apply them once it is installed on your Vercel site.
💡 Best Practices
- Complete your site migration and DNS changes before reconnecting OTTO.
- Keep only one active integration per domain to avoid conflicts.
- Redeploy your Vercel site after any major change to your setup.
