🔌 MCP Capabilities for Scheduling Social Posts

Last updated on Oct 26, 2026

💡 Overview

The Search Atlas MCP (Model Context Protocol) connection lets an AI assistant such as Claude work with your Search Atlas account. Customers often ask two things: whether posts that were already written elsewhere can be pushed into the Search Atlas scheduler, and what data Claude can pull or submit.

This article explains how to find out what your connection supports, what to expect for each data type, and what to do if a capability is not available to you.

Important: The MCP only offers the actions (called tools) that Search Atlas has enabled for your account and connection. This list can change as we release updates, so the most reliable source is the live tool list in your own Claude session. Steps to check it are below.

🔍 Check What Your Connection Can Do

Before you plan a workflow, confirm which tools are available to you:

  1. Open Claude and make sure the Search Atlas MCP connector is turned on for your conversation.
  2. Ask: What Search Atlas tools do you have access to?
  3. Review the list. Look for tools related to reporting data, social posts, scheduling, and images.
  4. Ask Claude to describe what each relevant tool can read, create, or change.

If a tool for an action is not in the list, Claude cannot perform that action through MCP. In that case, use the manual steps described later in this article.

📅 Scheduling Already-Written Posts

If you already have social posts written, whether by Claude or by another tool, you can use Claude to prepare them for Search Atlas. Whether Claude can submit and schedule them directly depends on whether a social posting or scheduling tool appears in your tool list.

If a scheduling tool is available:

  1. Make sure the social profiles you want to post to are connected in Search Atlas.
  2. Give Claude the post text, any image, the target profile, and the date and time you want.
  3. Include your time zone so the schedule is not shifted.
  4. Ask Claude to confirm the details back to you before it submits anything.
  5. After submission, open the Search Atlas scheduler and check that each post appears with the correct profile, date, time, and image.

If no scheduling tool is available:

  • Ask Claude to format your posts so they are ready to copy, with the text, hashtags, and suggested posting times laid out clearly.
  • Paste or upload the posts into the Search Atlas social scheduler manually.

📊 What Claude Can Pull

When the related data sources are connected to your Search Atlas account, Claude can typically use MCP to read information for analysis and reporting. Exact coverage depends on your plan, your connected accounts, and the tools enabled for you.

  • Google Analytics (GA): traffic and engagement data, if GA is connected to your project.
  • Google Search Console (GSC): search performance data such as queries, clicks, impressions, and pages, if GSC is connected.
  • Google Business Profile (GBP): profile and performance information, if your profile is connected.
  • Social posts: posts that exist in Search Atlas, such as drafts and scheduled items, where a tool exposes them.
  • Images: images stored in or attached to your Search Atlas content, where a tool exposes them.

If a data source is not connected in Search Atlas, Claude cannot retrieve data from it. Connect the account in the platform first, then start a new Claude conversation so the latest connection is picked up.

📤 What Claude Can Submit

Submitting data is more limited than reading it. Whether Claude can create or change something depends on whether a write-enabled tool exists for it. Depending on your connection, this may include:

  • Creating or updating social post drafts
  • Scheduling posts to connected social profiles
  • Attaching images to posts

Anything not listed as an available tool should be treated as unsupported through MCP. Reporting sources such as GA and GSC are generally used for reading, not for making changes.

✅ Best Practices

  • Start with a test: Schedule one post first and verify it in the scheduler before sending a full batch.
  • Be specific: Give Claude the profile name, date, time, time zone, and image for each post.
  • Ask for a summary: Have Claude list what it plans to submit and confirm it before it acts.
  • Verify afterward: Check the scheduler to confirm everything was saved as expected.
  • Keep posts within platform limits: Each social network has its own character and image rules, so ask Claude to follow them.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

  • Claude says it cannot schedule posts: A scheduling tool may not be enabled for your connection. Use the manual scheduler as a workaround.
  • Data is missing or empty: Confirm the data source is connected in Search Atlas and that you selected the right project.
  • Posts do not appear in the scheduler: Check that the right social profile is connected, then ask Claude what the tool returned after submission.
  • Images are not attached: Confirm the image is available to Claude and meets the size and format rules for the social network.
  • Tools seem outdated: Disconnect and reconnect the MCP connector, then start a new conversation.
