In an AI Visibility project, you can track competitors alongside your own brand. Some customers report that when they add a competitor manually, the domain field clears but the domain never shows in the list, and the Save changes button stays grey. This article explains what to check and how to work around it.

• You open Manage Competitors and type a domain (for example, parksprings.com) in Add competitor domain.
• You click Add and the field clears.
• The domain does not appear in the competitor list.
• Save changes remains grey and cannot be clicked.

The grey button usually means the platform does not see any pending change to save. In other words, the domain was not accepted into the list, so there is nothing to save.

✅ How to Add a Manual Competitor Correctly

1. Open your AI Visibility project.
2. Open Manage Competitors.
3. Click into the Add competitor domain field.
4. Enter the domain only, for example parksprings.com. Do not include https://, www, a trailing slash, or any page path.
5. Click Add or press Enter.
6. Check that the domain now appears in the competitor list.
7. Click Save changes once it becomes active.

🔎 Common Reasons the Domain Does Not Appear

• The domain is formatted unexpectedly. Full URLs, extra spaces, or pasted text with hidden characters can cause the entry to be rejected. Retype the domain by hand.
• The competitor is already in the list. If it was auto-suggested or added earlier, it may not be added a second time. Scroll through the full list and check any suggested or hidden sections.
• The domain matches your own site. You cannot track your own domain as a competitor.
• The page has not fully loaded. If the page was open for a long time or your connection dropped, the list may not refresh properly.
• A browser extension or cached data is interfering. Ad blockers and privacy tools can sometimes block parts of the page.
• Your account role may not allow edits. If you are a team member on someone else's account, you may need edit access to the project.

1. Refresh the page and open Manage Competitors again. The domain may have been added but not displayed.
2. Retype the domain in lowercase without www or https://, then click Add.
3. Try a different domain format, such as the root domain only (example.com), if you used a subdomain.

5. Disable browser extensions temporarily, or try an incognito or private window.
6. Clear your browser cache or try a different browser such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.
7. Confirm your access level with the account owner if you are a team member.
