🔧 WordPress Plugin Fixes and Security Updates

Last updated on Oct 26, 2026

The latest Search Atlas WordPress plugin update (version 2.6.25) fixes several issues that affected your site's SEO output, improves compatibility with certain themes and page builders, and adds important security protections.

✨ What's New

SEO output and structured data

  • Cleaner breadcrumbs: Breadcrumb structured data on archive pages no longer includes an invalid or incomplete item, so search engines get a clean breadcrumb trail.
  • Editor "Disable" switches now work fully: The six "Disable" switches in the Post/Page Editor now stop the matching output from appearing on your site's frontend. Previously, they only hid the settings box in the editor.
  • More reliable video sitemaps: Video sitemaps now detect video players that your theme adds when the page loads. Previously, videos could be left out of your sitemap on these themes.
  • Consistent SEO value priority: When you import SEO values from another plugin, OTTO's values now consistently take priority in every part of the plugin, instead of being overridden unpredictably.

Compatibility and stability

  • Yootheme sites: OTTO no longer removes page content on Yootheme sites. Link and heading updates are now limited to Gutenberg blocks.
  • Local Business logo repair: If your Local Business logo value becomes corrupted, the plugin now repairs it automatically instead of continuing to show a broken logo URL.
  • Menu Icon setting: The Menu Icon settings field no longer causes an error when its value contains a percent sign (%).

Security improvements

  • Stronger settings protection: The plugin's settings handling is now stricter, so submitted data can no longer bypass the checks that keep your settings safe.
  • OTTO Debug page disabled: The OTTO Debug page and its related functions are now fully turned off. Before, any site administrator could reach them.
  • Safer Whitelabel password recovery: Password recovery now sends a single-use, short-lived reset link instead of emailing your password directly.
  • Safer Debug Mode backups: When Debug Mode backs up your wp-config.php file, it now saves the backup safely. It no longer leaves backup files in your website's public folder that could expose sensitive information.

Admin experience

  • Cleaner admin pages: The extra WordPress footer space is now hidden on the plugin's admin pages, giving you a tidier workspace.

🛠️ How to Use It

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Go to Plugins and find the Search Atlas plugin in your list.
  3. If an update is available, click Update Now.
  4. After the update finishes, confirm the plugin shows version 2.6.25 or later.

📋 What to Expect

  • Most improvements apply automatically after you update. You don't need to change any settings.
  • If you use the Post/Page Editor "Disable" switches, you may notice that the matching output no longer appears on your pages. This is the intended behavior. Review your switches to confirm they are set the way you want.
  • If your site uses a theme that adds video players at page load, your video sitemap may now include videos that were previously missing.
  • If you use Whitelabel password recovery, you will now receive a reset link instead of your password. The link works once and expires after a short time, so use it soon after requesting it.
  • The OTTO Debug page is no longer available. Use the chat widget if you need help troubleshooting.
