📌 Overview
When you submit a published page to Search Atlas Publisher, our system checks that the live link works and meets the order requirements. If the check fails, you may see a validation error. In some cases your Publisher account may also show as inactive. This article explains what the error means, why it happens, and what to do next.
🔍 What Is Live Link Validation?
Live link validation is an automatic check that confirms the page you submitted is really published and delivers what the order asked for. It usually looks at whether:
- The page URL opens publicly without a login, password, or paywall.
- The page loads correctly and does not return an error such as 404 (not found) or 500 (server error).
- The required link to the customer's website is on the page.
- The link points to the correct target URL and uses the correct anchor text.
- The page can be indexed by search engines and is not blocked.
- The page does not redirect somewhere else.
If any of these checks fail, the live link is marked as not valid.
⚠️ Common Reasons a Live Link Fails
- Typo or incomplete URL: The link was pasted with missing characters, extra spaces, or without https://.
- Draft or staging page: The page is still a draft, scheduled for later, or on a private test site.
- Page not publicly accessible: The page needs a login or is hidden behind a firewall or security rule.
- Required link missing: The customer's link was left out, removed, or placed in a part of the page that does not load.
- Wrong target URL or anchor text: The link goes to a different page than the one in the order, or the anchor text was changed.
- Link attributes changed: The link has an attribute, such as nofollow, that does not match the order requirements.
- Noindex or blocked page: The page tells search engines not to index it.
- Redirects: The URL sends visitors to another page, so the system cannot find the link.
- Content later edited or removed: The page was valid at first but was changed or taken down afterward.
- Temporary site issue: The website was slow or offline when the check ran.
🛠️ How to Fix a Failed Live Link
- Open the submitted URL in a private or incognito browser window. If you cannot see the page without logging in, make it public.
- Check that the page is fully published and not a draft or scheduled post.
- Confirm the URL is correct. Copy it directly from your browser's address bar after the page loads.
- Find the required link on the page. Check that it is visible, clickable, and points to the exact target URL in the order.
- Confirm the anchor text matches the order instructions.
- Check that the page is not set to noindex and that it does not redirect to another address.
- Wait a few minutes after publishing or making changes, then submit the live link again.
If the page still fails after these steps, note the exact error message shown in the platform. It will help our team find the cause faster.
🚫 Why Does My Account Show as Inactive?
A Publisher account can be set to inactive when the system or our team sees issues that affect quality or reliability. Common triggers include:
- Live links that repeatedly fail validation.
- Published links that are later removed, changed, or redirected.
- Pages that are not accessible when re-checked.
- Orders that stay incomplete past their deadline.
- Profile or website details that are missing, outdated, or no longer match the site.
If your account was reactivated before and became inactive again, it usually means the same issue happened again, or a new validation problem was detected on a previously submitted link. Checking all your recent and past submissions can help you find the cause.
✅ How to Get Your Account Reactivated
- Review your recent orders and find any with a failed or flagged live link.
- Fix each issue using the steps above, and make sure every previously approved link is still live and correct.
- Resubmit the corrected live links in the platform.
- Check your account status after resubmitting.
- If the account is still inactive, contact our team and share the order numbers and URLs involved so they can review your account.
💡 Tips to Avoid Future Problems
- Always test the live URL in an incognito window before submitting it.
- Do not edit or remove the link after it is approved.
- Keep the page public and indexable for as long as the order requires.
- Avoid redirects, URL changes, or site migrations that alter the page address.
- Follow the order instructions exactly, including target URL and anchor text.
- Submit the live link promptly after publishing so any problem is found early.
- Keep your website and profile details up to date.
