## **🔍 Overview**

Two questions come up often: **Is my website connected to Search Atlas?** and **When I publish a new page in WordPress, do I have to sync it manually?** This article explains how to check your connection and what to expect when you add new pages.

## **✅ How to Check Whether Your Site Is Connected**

Use these quick checks to confirm that your domain is connected to OTTO.

1. Log in to your Search Atlas account.
2. Open the project or site selector and look for your domain in the list. If it appears, a project exists for it.
3. Open the OTTO section for that project and check the connection or installation status. An active, connected status means OTTO can see your site.
4. Confirm that pages from your site are listed in the OTTO page or URL view. If you see your pages there, the connection is working.

If your domain is missing, or the status shows as not connected, not detected, or pending, follow the steps in the next section.

## **🛠️ What to Do If Your Site Is Not Connected**

- **Check the domain:** Make sure the project uses the exact version of your domain that your site loads on, including www or non-www and https.
- **Re-run the setup:** Open the OTTO setup for your project and follow the connection steps for WordPress again.
- **Clear your caching:** If you use a caching plugin or a CDN, clear the cache after installing or updating the connection. Old cached pages can hide the change.
- **Check for conflicts:** Security plugins and firewalls can sometimes block the connection. Temporarily review their settings if the status does not update.
- **Refresh the status:** After making changes, wait a few minutes and reload the OTTO page to see the updated status.

## **🔄 Do New WordPress Pages Sync Automatically?**

In most cases, you do not need to do anything. Once your WordPress site is connected, OTTO discovers new pages by scanning your site. When you publish a new page directly in WordPress, it should show up in your dashboard after OTTO's next scan.

Keep these points in mind:

- **Published pages only:** Drafts, private pages, and pages hidden from search engines may not appear.
- **Allow some time:** New pages may not appear instantly. Give it some time before you assume something is wrong.
- **Pages must be reachable:** The page needs to load publicly, without a login or password, and should be linked from somewhere on your site, such as your menu or sitemap.

## **📥 How to Make a New Page Show Up Faster**

1. Publish the page in WordPress and open its live URL in a private browser window to confirm it loads.
2. Make sure the page is included in your XML sitemap. Most SEO plugins add new pages automatically.
3. Clear your site cache so the live version of the page is visible.
4. Return to the OTTO page list in Search Atlas and refresh. If your project has a rescan, refresh, or sync option, use it.
5. Check again after some time. If the page is still missing, move on to the troubleshooting section.

## **⚠️ Troubleshooting: A New Page Is Not Appearing**

- **Check the page status:** Confirm it is set to Published, not Draft, Pending, or Private.
- **Check the noindex setting:** If your SEO plugin has the page set to noindex, it may be excluded.
- **Check the URL:** Make sure you are looking for the correct address, since a changed permalink creates a different URL.
- **Check the connection:** Go back to the connection checks above and make sure the status is still active, especially after a theme change, plugin update, or site migration.
- **Check redirects:** If the page redirects to another address, OTTO may list the final destination instead.

## **💡 Best Practices**

- Re-check your connection status after major site changes, such as a new theme, a migration, or a change of caching or security plugins.
- Keep your sitemap enabled and up to date.
- Link new pages from other pages on your site so they are easy to find.
- Review your OTTO page list after publishing so you can start optimizing new pages quickly.
