## **📌 Overview**

Publishers often ask why a payment has not arrived even though their articles are live and the expected payment period has started. In most cases, an article going live is only the first step. Before a payout is released, the article must be confirmed as eligible and your remittance details must be validated. This article explains how both steps work and what you can do to keep payments moving.

## **⏱️ How Payout Timing Works**

Payout timing is counted from when an article is confirmed as eligible for payment, not only from the day it was published. The usual sequence looks like this:

1. **Article is published.** The content goes live on your site.
2. **Article is reviewed.** We confirm the live URL, the placement, and that the content matches the agreed order.
3. **Payment becomes eligible.** Once the article is confirmed, it enters the payment period shown in your publisher agreement or in the payments area of the platform.
4. **Remittance is validated.** Your payment details are checked before funds are sent.
5. **Payment is processed.** Funds are sent using your validated payment method. Your bank or payment provider may need extra time to show the funds.

If any step is incomplete, the payment can be held until it is resolved. A payout that is still pending is not necessarily missed. It may be waiting on one of these steps.

## **✅ Remittance Validation Requirements**

Remittance validation protects both you and Search Atlas by making sure funds go to the right recipient. Depending on your payment method and region, we may need the following:

- **Payee name:** The legal name or business name must match the name on your payment account.
- Payment method details: A valid PayPal email address configured in your publisher account settings.
- Earnings tracking: Approved live articles and amounts are automatically tracked in your publisher dashboard without requiring manual invoices.
- **Tax or business information:** Any forms or details required for your location or business type.
- Consistent records: The details on your profile must match your payment account information. Mismatches are the most common cause of validation holds.

If a detail is missing or does not match, the payment is paused until it is corrected. Details that change after validation, such as a new bank account, may need to be validated again.

## **⚠️ Common Reasons a Payment Is Delayed**

- Remittance details are incomplete, outdated, or do not match the payee name.
- The payout details on file are invalid, incomplete, or do not match your publisher profile.
- The article was recently published and has not yet been confirmed as eligible.
- The live URL has changed, been removed, or no longer matches the original order.
- Payment details were updated recently and are being re-validated.
- Your bank or payment provider needs extra time to receive and post the transfer.

## **🧾 Checklist Before You Ask for an Update**

Working through this list can resolve many delays on your own, and it makes any follow-up faster:

1. Confirm each article is still live at the URL we have on record.
2. Check that your payee name and payment details are correct and current in the platform.
3. Make sure any required invoice has been submitted and lists the correct URLs, amounts, and currency.
4. Check your publisher agreement or the payments area for the payment period that applies to your articles.
5. Look at your payment account for incoming transfers that may be marked pending.

## **💬 What to Include When You Request a Payment Update**

A clear request lets our team locate your payments quickly instead of asking you follow-up questions. Please include:

- The live URL of each article you are waiting on.
- The publish date for each article.
- Any invoice numbers or order references.
- The payment date you were expecting and where that date was communicated.
- The payee name and payment method on file. Do not share full account numbers or passwords in chat.

With this information, our team can tell you whether each payment is scheduled, in validation, or waiting on something from you.

## **❓ Quick Answers**

- **My article is live. Why am I not paid yet?** The payment period usually starts once the article is confirmed as eligible and your remittance details are validated, so a live article alone may not trigger a payout.
- **Can I request payment for all pending articles at once?** Yes. List every article URL in your request so each one can be checked individually.
- **Will I be told when a payment is sent?** Our team can confirm the status of each payment when you ask, including whether it has been processed.
- **What if my payment details change?** Update them in the platform as soon as possible. Changed details may need to be validated again before the next payout.
