## **Why disconnecting is blocked**

If Search Atlas tells you to disable the lock before you can disconnect a Google Business Profile, the project-level lock is on for that location. The lock stops automated syncs and edits from changing your live profile, and it also blocks disconnecting while it is on.

## **Where the lock control is**

1. Open your **GBP / Local SEO Overview** for the location.
2. Look in the top-right area, just to the right of the Heatmap / Keyword table.
3. Find the card labeled **GBP Data Locked**, with "Protected" underneath it. It shows a green toggle switch with a padlock icon.
4. Click the green toggle to switch it to **Unlocked / Off**.

There is no separate lock icon to hunt for. The control is that toggle.

## **After you unlock it**

With the toggle off, the protection is disabled and you can disconnect the Google Business Profile or edit it. Turn the toggle back on when you want the protection again.

Click the chat icon in the bottom-right corner of the platform to start a live chat with a member of our team, and tell them which location you are trying to disconnect.
