Some customers have noticed an unexpected URL parameter — otto_prod — appearing in their Google Ads campaign tracking templates after connecting their account to Search Atlas. This article explains what this parameter is and what to do if you are seeing it in your account.
OTTO is Search Atlas's AI-powered campaign management engine. When OTTO manages or generates campaigns on your behalf, it may append a tracking token — otto_prod — to your landing page URLs or tracking templates. This token is used internally to attribute performance data back to OTTO-managed activity.
This parameter was not added by Google and was not the result of unauthorised access to your account. It was applied automatically by the OTTO PPC system as part of its campaign management workflow.
To review whether otto_prod is present in your Google Ads tracking setup, log in to your Google Ads account and inspect the tracking template fields at the account, campaign, ad group, and ad levels. If you find otto_prod present, you can manually remove it from the tracking template field and save your changes. Google Ads will apply the updated template going forward.
