Google AI Overview (formerly Search Generative Experience) is a feature that places AI-generated summaries at the very top of Google search results pages. These summaries pull content from selected websites and display them above traditional organic rankings, giving featured sites dramatically increased visibility and credibility.
Unlike standard SERP rankings, AI Overview citations are chosen based on topical authority, content quality, and relevance signals — not just keyword matching. Appearing in AI Overview means your content is being used to answer real user questions directly inside Google.
AI Overview visibility and tracking features in Search Atlas are not available on all plans. Before attempting to access these tools, confirm that your current subscription includes AI Visibility features. If you are unsure which plan you are on or whether it includes AI Overview functionality, check your account settings or reach out to our team for clarification.
Because the exact navigation steps and feature names may vary depending on your plan and platform version, we recommend the following approach to get set up:
Confirm your plan eligibility. Log in to your Search Atlas account and review your current plan details in your account settings to verify that AI Visibility features are included.
Add your website as a project. If you have not already done so, make sure your domain is saved as a project inside Search Atlas so the platform can track its performance.
Locate AI Visibility settings. Once logged in, explore the platform's navigation menu to find the section related to AI Visibility or AI Overview. The exact label and location may differ based on your plan tier and any recent platform updates.
Enable and configure tracking. Follow the in-platform prompts to enable Google AI Overview tracking for your domain and any keywords you want to monitor.
If you cannot find the AI Overview or AI Visibility section after logging in, it is possible that this feature is not included in your current plan, or that it requires activation by our team.
