🔍 What Is the D15 Validation Check?

The D15 validation check is an on-page audit rule inside OTTO SEO. When working correctly, it flags any issues it detects, you address them, and the recommendation is marked as resolved.

However, some customers experience a bug where the D15 check continues to flag the same items as incomplete — even after confirming they have been addressed. This is a known issue currently being investigated by the Search Atlas engineering team.

⚠️ Why This Happens

The root cause is a loop in the OTTO recommendation engine. Under certain conditions, the agent re-evaluates the same checks in a cycle without registering that the previous recommendation was completed. This can result in:

The D15 recommendation reappearing immediately after being resolved

The audit appearing stuck or resetting to a previous state

No visible feedback to confirm whether your changes were registered

This behaviour is not caused by anything you have done incorrectly. The loop is a platform-side issue with how recommendations are processed and dismissed.

✅ Steps to Take Right Now

Confirm your changes are saved correctly. Revisit the relevant page or settings and verify that any fields flagged by the D15 check are properly filled in and saved. Take a screenshot for your records.

Refresh the OTTO dashboard. Close the tab, clear your browser cache, and reopen the platform. In some cases a fresh session allows the recommendation engine to re-evaluate your page cleanly.

Check for duplicate recommendations. Scroll through your full recommendation list to see if the D15 item appears more than once. If it does, this confirms the looping behaviour and is useful information to share with our team.

Do not repeatedly re-enter the same information. Making repeated edits in an attempt to resolve the flag will not fix the underlying loop and may cause additional confusion in the audit log.

📋 What to Have Ready When You Escalate

Because this is a platform-side bug, our team will need to investigate on the backend. To help us resolve it as quickly as possible, please have the following ready before reaching out:

The exact name of the project or page affected

A screenshot showing the D15 recommendation appearing after you have already addressed it

Any timestamps or details about when the looping behaviour first started

Whether the recommendation appears more than once in your list

If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.
