LLM Visibility uses an auto-discovery process to identify competitors based on signals that large language models associate with your brand. In some cases, the AI may surface companies that are unrelated to your actual industry or niche.
This is a known classification issue affecting auto-discovered competitor lists in LLM Visibility. Our engineering team is actively working on a resolution.
Our team has confirmed this as an active bug where auto-discovered competitors may pull in unrelated companies instead of true industry rivals. A fix is currently being worked on by our engineering team and will roll out automatically once ready; no action is required on your end to receive it.
While the permanent fix is being deployed, you can manually remove incorrect competitors and add the right ones directly inside your LLM Visibility project. Navigate to your active LLM Visibility project and find your competitor list. From there:
Identify any incorrectly listed companies and remove or exclude them from your analysis.
Manually add the correct competitor domains that are genuinely relevant to your niche.
Important: If excluded competitors reappear after an automated refresh, re-exclude them — the engineering fix will address this once fully released.
Be specific with your brand description. A clear, niche-specific brand description helps LLMs classify your business correctly.
Add true competitors proactively. Manually adding your known competitors gives the system accurate reference points.
Review your competitor list periodically. Until the fix is fully live, check your competitor list regularly to catch and correct any misclassified entries.
