When you try to lighten or remove a dark overlay on a hero image in Website Studio, the change may not apply as expected — leaving your hero image still appearing very dark. This is a known platform issue that may require backend investigation to resolve.
This article explains what is happening and what information to have ready when contacting our support team.
Hero image overlay adjustments in Website Studio can fail to apply correctly in certain cases. Because the root cause requires investigation on the platform side, there is no confirmed self-serve workaround available at this time.
Our team is aware that hero image overlays may remain dark even after attempting to change them. This is a bug that requires backend review rather than a customer-side fix.
To help our team investigate and resolve this as quickly as possible, please have the following information ready before reaching out:
Your project or site name in Website Studio.
The specific page where the dark hero image overlay appears.
A screenshot or screen recording showing the dark overlay on your hero image.
The exact steps you have already tried to lighten or remove the overlay.
Any error messages or unexpected behaviour you observed during those attempts.
Providing these details upfront will allow our team to reproduce the issue and apply the correct fix on the backend.
If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type human teammate to be connected with a member of our team.
