## 🔍 What Is This Issue?

Some accounts have experienced a hidden or orphaned LLM visibility project — one that was never visible in the normal project list — quietly consuming a significant share of LLM credits every month. This happened because removing a domain from a project did not automatically stop LLM tracking for that domain, leaving a background process running and draining your quota.

Because orphaned LLM tracking projects exist only on the backend and are not visible in your account interface, they cannot be identified or removed by users directly. The Search Atlas support team must locate and delete these projects on your behalf, and can also reset your LLM quota to reflect accurate usage.

## ✅ How to Get This Resolved

If you suspect an orphaned LLM tracking project is consuming your credits, follow these steps:

1. **Check your credit consumption:** Review how many LLM credits have been used in the current billing period. If the total seems higher than what your intentionally created projects would account for, this is a strong signal that a hidden project is running in the background.
2. **Contact the Search Atlas support team:** Because orphaned projects are not visible or removable from the user interface, you will need to reach out to support to resolve this. When you do, include: the approximate number of unexpected credits consumed, the domains you intentionally set up for LLM tracking, and any billing period details that show the discrepancy.
3. **Agent resolution:** A support agent will locate any hidden or orphaned LLM tracking projects on the backend, remove them from your account, and reset your LLM quota to reflect correct usage. You do not need to take any further action in the interface.

## 💡 Was Your Account Already Affected?

If your account was impacted by an orphaned tracker, the support team can confirm this and restore your quota once the hidden project is removed. If you are still seeing unexpected credit usage after a previous support interaction, contact the Search Atlas support team again so an agent can investigate further.
