# **🧭 Overview**

If you want to stop OTTO from managing SEO on your website, you need to complete two steps: disengage OTTO SEO automation and remove the OTTO pixel from your site. If you are unsure which option or button to use to disengage OTTO in the current interface, contact our support team — they can confirm the exact control name and location for your account.

# **⚠️ Before You Begin**

- Make sure you are logged in to your Search Atlas account.
- Confirm you have admin access to the website you want to remove OTTO from.
- If your site runs on WordPress, you will also need access to your WordPress admin dashboard to remove the OTTO pixel plugin.

# **🛑 Step 1: Disengage OTTO SEO Automation**

This step stops OTTO from making automated SEO changes to your website.

1. Log in to your Search Atlas account and navigate to the OTTO SEO section of the platform.
2. Locate the website you want to remove OTTO from — for example, **www.mrperfectplumbing.com**.
3. Look for the option to disengage or disconnect OTTO's automation for that site. The exact label may vary depending on your account view — if you cannot locate it, please reach out to our support team before proceeding.
4. Select the disengage option and confirm the action when prompted.

Once completed, OTTO will stop applying automated SEO changes to your website. Your existing content and any previously applied changes will remain in place until you manually update them.

# **🧹 Step 2: Remove the OTTO Pixel From Your WordPress Site**

The OTTO pixel is a small piece of code that connects your website to Search Atlas. After disengaging OTTO, you should also remove the pixel to fully disconnect your site.

**If you installed the OTTO pixel using the Search Atlas WordPress plugin:**

1. Log in to your **WordPress admin dashboard**.
2. Go to **Plugins → Installed Plugins**.
3. Find the **Search Atlas** or **OTTO SEO** plugin.
4. Click **Deactivate**, then click **Delete** to remove it completely.

**If you installed the OTTO pixel by manually adding code to your theme or header:**

1. Log in to your **WordPress admin dashboard**.
2. Go to **Appearance → Theme File Editor** (or use a header plugin such as Insert Headers and Footers).
3. Locate the OTTO pixel script tag in your **header.php** file or the relevant header section.
4. Delete the OTTO pixel script snippet.
5. Save your changes.

**If you used a third-party tag manager such as Google Tag Manager:**

1. Open your tag manager account.
2. Find the tag associated with the OTTO pixel or Search Atlas.
3. Pause or delete the tag, then publish the updated container.
