## **Why the Schema tab may be locked**

In Search Atlas, the automated schema tab is available on certain plan tiers. If your account does not include access to the automated schema generator, or if the tab appears locked or grayed out, you can still deploy valid JSON-LD structured data to your pages by using the **Custom HTML** block instead. This is the supported workaround for adding schema markup manually.

## **How to deploy custom JSON-LD via Custom HTML**

1. Navigate to the page editor for the page you want to add structured data to.
2. Locate the **Custom HTML** section or block within the page settings or editor.
3. Write or paste your JSON-LD structured data, wrapped in a standard **`<script>`** tag with **type="application/ld+json"**, into the Custom HTML field. For example:
   **`<script type="application/ld+json">`
   { your JSON-LD object here }
   `</script>`**
4. Save your changes and publish or update the page.
5. To verify your structured data is live and valid, paste your page URL into Google's Rich Results Test (search.google.com/test/rich-results) or the Schema Markup Validator (validator.schema.org).

## **Tips for valid JSON-LD**

- Make sure your JSON-LD follows the correct schema.org vocabulary for your content type (e.g. Article, Product, FAQPage, LocalBusiness).
- Only one JSON-LD script block per schema type is needed per page — duplicate types can cause validation warnings.
- The Custom HTML block accepts any valid HTML, so you can add multiple separate **`<script type="application/ld+json">`** blocks if you need to deploy more than one schema type on the same page.
