## **🔍 Overview**

OTTO's AI-powered negative keyword recommendations are designed to help you automatically filter out irrelevant search terms and improve your Smart Ads performance. However, the feature does not generate suggestions immediately after activation. This article explains why recommendations may not yet be visible.

## **⏳ Why There's a Delay After Activation**

OTTO's negative keyword AI works by analysing real performance data from your active ad campaigns. When you first activate the feature, the system has little or no data to analyse. Suggestions are generated only after OTTO has collected a sufficient sample of activity from your account.

This means the delay you are experiencing is expected behaviour — not a bug or a misconfiguration. The AI needs time and sufficient traffic before it can make accurate, actionable recommendations.

## **📊 Traffic Requirements Before Suggestions Appear**

To trigger AI-generated negative keyword recommendations, your Smart Ads campaigns need to accumulate enough real performance data for OTTO to identify patterns. Until that threshold is reached, no suggestions will be shown. The exact data threshold is determined by OTTO automatically based on your account's activity.

## **🛠️ What to Do While Waiting**

If negative keyword suggestions have not yet appeared in your account, this is generally expected during the early period after activation. There is no specific action required on your part beyond ensuring your campaigns remain active and continue serving ads normally. Once OTTO has gathered enough data from your account, recommendations will begin to appear.

If you have been running active campaigns for an extended period and suggestions still have not appeared, this may warrant further investigation by our support team. When reaching out, please have the following ready:

- Your project or account name in Search Atlas
- Approximately when you activated OTTO for Smart Ads
- A description of your current campaign activity (e.g. whether campaigns are actively serving)
