## **Understanding Your GBP Score**

Your GBP (Google Business Profile) score reflects how well-optimized your Google Business Profile is within Search Atlas. The score takes into account local visibility and profile quality signals, and it does not update in real time — there is a refresh delay after you make changes before the new score is reflected.

If you have recently made updates to your profile or citations and are not yet seeing a change in your score, this is expected behavior. Allow some time for the refresh cycle to complete before concluding that a change had no effect.

## **What Can Influence Your GBP Score**

While the exact scoring methodology is determined by Search Atlas and may evolve over time, GBP optimization generally involves factors such as:

- Profile completeness (business name, address, phone, hours, categories)
- Local citation consistency across directories and websites
- Local ranking positions in your target service area
- Review quantity and average rating
- Photo and post activity on the profile

If you are unsure which factors are most affecting your specific score, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type **human teammate** to be connected with a member of our team who can help clarify what the score reflects and what steps may improve it.

## **General Steps to Improve Your GBP Score**

The following are broadly recommended optimization practices you can apply directly within your Search Atlas account.

- **Complete your profile:** Ensure all profile fields are accurately filled in, including categories, business description, attributes, services, and photos.
- **Audit and fix local citations:** Review your business name, address, and phone number (NAP) across external directories to ensure consistency with what appears on your Google Business Profile.
- **Review your local rankings:** Use the local ranking tools available in your account to identify geographic areas where visibility is weak and prioritize optimization efforts there.
- **Manage reviews:** Actively encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews and respond to existing reviews to demonstrate engagement.

## **Managing Multiple Locations**

If you manage multiple listings, score refresh and optimization practices apply to each listing individually. If you are unsure how to apply these steps across a multi-location setup in your account, the support team is available to walk you through the process via the chat widget.
