API access is available on **every Search Atlas plan, including Starter**. You do not need to upgrade or ask support to enable it — you only need to create an API key.

## **📍 Where to Find It**

Your API keys live in **Settings → API Keys**.

## **🛠️ Step-by-Step**

1. Open **Settings** in the Search Atlas dashboard.
2. Select the **API Keys** tab.
3. Click **Generate new key**.
4. Copy the key and store it somewhere safe, such as your integration's settings or an environment variable.

From the same **API Keys** tab you can also regenerate or revoke existing keys. When you regenerate a key, update it everywhere you use it.

## **✅ How to Confirm It Worked**

Make a request with your new key. A successful response means the key is active. If you get an authentication error, check that you copied the full key and that it has not been revoked or replaced by a newer one.
