Every Search Atlas plan includes a set number of article credits per billing cycle. If you exhaust your quota before the cycle resets — even on the highest-tier plan — you can purchase additional credits at any time without upgrading or waiting for renewal.

## **🔍 What Counts as an Article Credit?**

Article credits are consumed when you generate content using the AI writing tools inside the **Content** section of Search Atlas. This includes:

- Full article generation via the **SEO Content Assistant**
- Content created through **AI Content Templates**
- Articles produced from the **Content Planner**

Tools such as **On-Page Audit**, **Topical Maps**, **Scholar**, and **Meta Generator** do not consume article credits.

## **⚙️ How to Purchase Additional Article Credits**

1. Log in to your Search Atlas account.
2. Click your **account name or avatar** in the top-right corner of the platform.
3. Select **Billing** or **Manage Subscription** from the dropdown menu.
4. Scroll to the **Add-ons** or **Extra Credits** section.
5. Choose the article credit pack that fits your needs and click **Purchase**.
6. Confirm your payment details and complete the checkout.

Your new credits are added to your account immediately after the transaction is confirmed. You can return to **Left sidebar → Content → Content Genius (What are we writing today?)** (or any AI content tool) and resume generating articles right away.

## **💡 Tips to Manage Your Article Credits**

- **Check your remaining credits** at any time from the Billing or Usage section of your account settings.
- **Plan ahead** — if you regularly exhaust your quota, consider purchasing a credit top-up before you run out to avoid workflow interruptions.
- **Credits reset monthly** on your billing renewal date. Check your Billing or Usage page for the current rollover terms on any purchased add-on credits.

**I'm on the largest plan. Why did I run out of credits?**  
Even the highest-tier plan has a defined monthly article credit limit. Heavy usage — such as running large content campaigns — can exhaust that quota before the month ends. Purchasing an add-on credit pack is the quickest way to continue without changing your plan.

**Will my monthly credits still reset on my renewal date?**  
Yes. Your standard plan credits reset as normal on your billing date. Any purchased add-on credits remain in your account and are used after your monthly allocation runs out.

**Can I buy credits for a future month in advance?**  
Add-on credits are applied to your account immediately upon purchase. Check your Billing or Usage page for the current terms on how long purchased credits remain valid.
