Tokens are the credits used to power AI-driven features inside Search Atlas, such as content generation, keyword research, and other automation tools. You can acquire tokens in two ways: through your **subscription plan quota** (which renews automatically each billing cycle) or through **token top-ups** purchased separately.

## **🔁 What Is a Recurring Token Top-Up?**

When you purchase a token top-up, the default setting is **recurring**. This means the same top-up package will be charged automatically on your next billing date — every month — until you cancel it. Recurring top-ups are designed for customers who consistently need extra tokens beyond their plan quota and want uninterrupted access without repurchasing each month.

- Recurring top-ups renew on the same date as your main subscription billing cycle.
- You will see the charge on your invoice alongside your plan subscription fee.
- Recurring top-ups can be cancelled at any time before the next renewal date.

## **💳 What Is a One-Time Token Top-Up?**

A **one-time token top-up** is a single, non-recurring purchase. You are charged once, your token balance is credited immediately, and no future automatic charges are applied for that top-up. This option is ideal if you have a short-term project or an occasional spike in token usage.

## **📅 How to Check Whether Your Top-Up Is Recurring or One-Time**

1. Log in to your Search Atlas account.
2. Click your **Avatar** (top-right) and select **Billing**.
3. Locate the **Plans & Top-ups** section (Top Up / Add-on buttons).
4. Any active recurring top-up will display a renewal date and a **Cancel** option next to it.
5. One-time purchases will appear only in your invoice history with no renewal date shown.

## **🛒 How to Purchase Tokens as a One-Time Purchase Only**

Follow these steps to make sure you are buying tokens without enabling a recurring charge:

1. Go to **Avatar (top-right) > Billing > Plans & Top-ups** (Top Up / Add-on buttons).
2. Select the token package you want (for example, 2,000 tokens).
3. Before confirming, look for the billing frequency toggle or checkbox. Select **One-Time** instead of **Monthly / Recurring**.
4. Review the order summary to confirm it shows a one-time charge with no renewal date.
5. Click **Confirm Purchase**. Your tokens will be credited to your account immediately.

**Important:** If you do not see a one-time option during checkout, or if you are unsure which option is selected, do not complete the purchase. Reach out via the chat widget first to confirm the correct purchase flow for your account.

## **⚠️ What If My Top-Up Is Already Set to Recurring?**

If you purchased top-ups on specific dates (for example, August 4th and 5th) and you are concerned they are set to recur, take these steps right away:

1. Go to **Avatar (top-right) > Billing > Plans & Top-ups** and review your active add-ons.
2. If a recurring top-up is listed, click **Cancel** next to it to prevent the next automatic charge.
3. Cancelling stops future renewals but does **not** remove tokens already credited to your account.

## **📊 When Does My Plan Quota Renew?**

Your base token quota — the tokens included with your Search Atlas subscription plan — renews automatically on your **monthly billing date**. Any unused quota tokens do **not** roll over to the next month. Token top-up balances (both one-time and recurring) are separate from your plan quota and are consumed after your plan quota is depleted.

- Plan quota renewal date = your monthly subscription billing date.
- Recurring top-up renewal date = same as your billing date.
- One-time top-up tokens remain in your balance until fully used; they do not expire on a monthly cycle.
