## **🧭 What Is Account Management in Search Atlas?**

Account management covers everything related to your Search Atlas workspace: your profile settings, team members, billing, and access permissions. If you landed here because you were looking for a manager or admin to help with something specific, this article will point you in the right direction.

## **⚙️ How to Access Your Account Settings**

Most account-level tasks can be completed directly inside the platform without needing to contact support. Here is how to get there:

1. Click your **avatar or profile icon** in the **top-right corner** of the platform.
2. Select **Settings** from the dropdown menu, or navigate directly to **/settings**.
3. From the Settings area, you can manage your profile, invite or remove team members, adjust roles, and review your plan details.

## **👥 Common Account Tasks You Can Do Yourself**

The following tasks are self-serve and do not require contacting support:

- **Invite a team member:** Go to Settings → Team Members → click **Add member** and enter their email address.
- **Change a team member's role:** In the Team Members list, find the user and update their role using the dropdown next to their name.
- **Remove a team member:** Select the user in Team Members and click **Remove** to revoke their access.
- **Update your own profile details:** Click your avatar → Settings → Profile to edit your name, email, or password.
- **Review your subscription or plan:** Click your avatar in the top-right corner → Billing to see your current plan and usage.

## **🔑 Understanding Roles and Permissions**

Search Atlas uses role-based access to control what each team member can see and do. Common roles include:

- **Owner:** Full access to all settings, billing, and team management. Only one owner per account.
- **Admin:** Can manage team members and most settings, but may have limited access to billing depending on your plan.
- **Member:** Can use platform features but cannot change account settings or manage other users.

If you need your role changed, ask your account **Owner or Admin** to update it from the Team Members settings page.

## **🛠️ When to Contact Support**

If you have completed the steps above and still cannot resolve your issue, our support team is ready to help. To get the most out of your support conversation, it helps to come prepared with a clear description of your problem. Before reaching out, try to identify:

- **What you were trying to do** (e.g., invite a team member, change a role, access a feature).
- **What happened instead** (e.g., an error message, a missing button, unexpected behaviour).
- **Any steps you already tried** to resolve the issue.

Providing these details upfront means our team can resolve your issue faster without needing to ask follow-up questions.

## **💬 How to Reach a Human Teammate**

If you need further assistance, open the chat widget in the bottom-right corner of the platform and type **human teammate** to be connected with a member of our team.
