If your Citation Score inside GBP Galactic shows Google or Google Maps as **listing not found**, you are not alone. This is a known display behaviour, and it does not mean your Google Business Profile is missing or broken. This article explains why it happens and what you can expect.

## **💡 Why Google and Google Maps Show as 'Listing Not Found'**

The Citation Score feature scans a wide network of third-party directories to detect and verify your business listings. However, **Google and Google Maps are not accessible through the same automated scanning method** used for other directories. Google restricts external tools from crawling and verifying Google Business Profile data in the same way.

Because of this restriction, the Citation Score tool cannot automatically confirm the presence of your Google or Google Maps listing — even when your GBP profile is fully active, verified, and connected to GBP Galactic. The **listing not found** status for these two sources reflects a technical limitation of the scan, not an actual problem with your profile.

## **⚙️ Can I Manually Add Google and Google Maps Citations?**

At this time, **Google and Google Maps cannot be manually added as citations** within the Citation Score tool. Because these platforms fall outside the supported directory network, they are not available as sources you can submit or override manually.

Your Citation Score will continue to reflect the status of all other supported directories, and your Google Business Profile remains fully functional and connected to GBP Galactic regardless of what the Citation Score displays for these two sources.

## **✅ How to Check Your Google Business Profile Is Working Correctly**

To confirm your GBP profile is active and properly connected, follow these steps:

1. Go to **Left sidebar → Local → GBP Projects** to open GBP Galactic.
2. Select the relevant GBP project from your project list.
3. Review the **Overview** page (Left sidebar → GBP Projects → Overview) to confirm your profile details, status, and connected account are displaying correctly.
4. Check **Left sidebar → Local → Reviews** (GBP Reviews) and **Left sidebar → Local → Posts** to confirm data is syncing from your live Google profile.

If your Overview is loading profile data and your Reviews or Posts are syncing, your Google Business Profile is connected and working as expected.

## **📋 What the Citation Score Does Measure**

The Citation Score is still a valuable indicator of your broader local presence. It measures how consistently your business information appears across supported third-party directories, including platforms like Yelp, Bing Places, Apple Maps, and many others. A strong Citation Score on these platforms supports your overall local SEO health.

To review your full citation status, navigate to **Left sidebar → Local → Local Citations**. Here you can see which directories have been found, which have inconsistencies, and where opportunities exist to build or fix listings.

## **🛠️ Summary**

- Google and Google Maps showing as **listing not found** in Citation Score is expected behaviour — it is a scan limitation, not a profile error.
- Your GBP profile remains active and connected to GBP Galactic regardless of this display.
- Manual citation submission for Google and Google Maps is not currently supported.
