## **Overview**

Two of the most common OTTO setup issues are locating the installation script and correcting logo positioning on H1 elements. This guide walks you through how to retrieve your OTTO script from the Search Atlas UI, install it correctly, and resolve logo H1 conflicts in your theme before escalating to support.

## **Before You Begin**

- Make sure you have editor or admin access to your website's theme or CMS.
- Confirm your Search Atlas account has an active OTTO session for the target website.
- Have your website URL and project name ready in case you need to escalate.

## **OTTO Script Installation**

The OTTO script is unique to each website you connect. To retrieve your script, follow these steps inside Search Atlas:

1. Log in to Search Atlas and open **OTTO SEO → All Sites (SEO Automation)** from the left sidebar.
2. Select the target website from your list of connected projects.
3. Locate the area within the OTTO dashboard where your unique script snippet is displayed — the script is tied to that specific website and should be visible once you have selected your project.
4. Copy the full script snippet.

**Key installation guidance:**

- Paste the script inside the **`<head>`** tag of your website, as high up as possible.
- It must be pasted as a single unbroken line — do not split it across multiple lines.
- Save and publish your changes after pasting the script.

After installation, return to the OTTO dashboard and re-run diagnostics to confirm the script is detected. If diagnostics continue to fail, note the exact error message and the timestamp before escalating.

## **Logo Positioning on H1 Elements**

A frequent issue during OTTO setup is the site logo being detected as or wrapped in an **`<h1>`** tag rather than a standard image or link element. This can interfere with OTTO's on-page analysis and may trigger logo-related warnings in your diagnostics.

Try the following self-serve fixes based on your CMS or page builder before contacting support:

- **WordPress (Classic Theme / custom header.php):** Access your theme's header template file through your theme editor or file manager. Locate the logo markup and confirm it is wrapped in a **`<div>`** or **`<a>`** tag, not an **`<h1>`**. If it is inside an **`<h1>`**, change that tag to a non-heading element such as a **`<div>`**, then save your changes.
- **Page builders and other CMS platforms:** Check your theme's header or logo settings for an option that controls the HTML element used to wrap the logo. Some themes output the logo inside an H1 on the homepage by default. If your theme or page builder does not offer a native option to change this, you can apply a custom CSS rule that suppresses the H1 styling on the logo element without removing it from the page structure.
- **General approach:** Use your browser's Inspect Element tool to view the live HTML around your logo. If it is wrapped in an **`<h1>`**, identify the theme file or setting responsible and update accordingly. After making changes, re-run OTTO diagnostics to confirm the issue is resolved.

If you are unable to locate the script in your OTTO dashboard, or if logo H1 warnings persist after trying the steps above, have the following information ready before contacting support: your project name, the exact diagnostic error message, and a timestamp of when the issue occurred.
